I think they first have to wait for the annual seagull migrations to finish at Davisville and San Diego?

I read somewhere that Porsche only uses closed car transporters to move vehicles from port to dealerships. If that is true, it limits the number of transporters that are capable of delivering and the delay will take some time to clear up.

lol that's going to take some time to un-F and some trucking companies are going to make BANK. At this point mine may as well be on an open carrier, it's been sitting for weeks outside. It literally will never sit outside for even a 10th of time time like that again after I've gotten it. So much for anyone who likes the "never seen rain" moniker haha.

Seems thing change quickly ...
sometimes. I got an email this afternoon from my dealer, too :
Steve- Porsche just received CARB certification on 2018 911’s! Therefore your car will be here before the end of the month, they estimate August 25th.
My 2018 Targa 4 GTS was completed 8.7.2017. I'm pretty stoked to get it before September ! We'll see.
I'm in CT .... obviously, a CARB state.

Congrats to all of you that can finally take delivery of your cars. Does anyone know if the certifications cover all variants of the 911's? I'm waiting on a 991.2 gt3 that is scheduled to arrive 10/29. My original date was suppose to be 9/8 but was delayed. I'm hoping that the cert on the gt3 has already been done so it won't get further delayed.

The notice from PCNA that my dealer sent me says the following 911s are CARB approved; "Carrera/ S / 4 / 4S / GTS models / Targa models / Turbo / Turbo S".
Thanks for the info. That was kind of what I thought already. I was hoping otherwise. The wait continues

Here's hoping they packed the dealership cars and spaced the customer cars for quick access. Then again they did ship a bunch of cars without having all necessary certifications.

The site still has not been updated since August 4 and that is unusual. There should be separate orders for the, Carreras, S's, GTS's, GT3's, etc.
