Default My car was just finished ...

Emailed my Porsche sales guy regarding my 2018 Targa 4 GTS yesterday. He emailed back that my car was just "completed" and that because of the CARB crap, he expects it to be in the dealership in September.

Don't know how "updated" he is, but that's what he said.

I'm in CT ... a CARB state. What else would you think blue CT to be?

I'm hoping the car will come in early September, but who knows. ??

Well, my 2018 4S arrived in RI on August 2nd and I will be taking delivery this Friday.
But then I live in a "drug-infested den" aka NH so move on up here if you want your Porsche without delays.

I keep coming back to this thread for good news because I have a car that arrived on splendid ace on July 9th! Is anyone at Porsche getting fired over this? This happened last year and is happening again this year and we blame the government? Really?! There are obstacles everywhere in this world. The smart ones in this world learn after the first time and don't get caught a second time. PCNA obviously is not in that camp. We are being too patient with them.

PCNA is obviously being targeted here. Its not like these cars aren't compliant, or are being modified somehow before delivery. It's all a government reprisal operation because of the diesel scandal.

I hope you get it this Friday.

P.S......your state is drug infested? You should see mine.... Ugh..

Yes...I know the origin of the comment.

Same exact time and ship. Totally rediculous. What Im most worried about is just sitting there w all the elements. Rain! Hot Sun! Salt Air! Car not moving and just sitting there( brake rotors rusting) etc.... so frustrated w this bs and how much money we are spending.

my dealer told me end of Q3 which is end of Sept. would be nice to know that's the outside time frame, but i know he put his money where his mouth is, because they bought up a few used cars at strong prices so they'd have something for the floor.

Are they inspecting each car or just 991.2 18's as a model? I live in CA and looking at local dealer inventories, it looks like most have at least 1-2 '18 models with showroom or lot pics.

You can check THIS LIST on a daily basis to see if/when Porsche has CARB certification for each MY18 engine type. The year on the right-hand column is incorrect.

CARB will be achieved by end of this week for the 911 and Cayman models based on information on the 718 Forum.

So I have already had my 2018 for 2750 miles via European delivery and I didn't think this issue was going to affect me but now I am frickin pissed after the email I got from my dealer today quoted below. I've never had a high opinion of our over regulated and bureaucratic government but now their incompetence is directly affecting me. I am really mad. Where the heck is Trump when you need him?

"On your car: the Feds have not yet certified the 2018 model Porsches for CARB states, and we don’t expect this to happen until September.
Porsche can’t release any 2018’s in CARB states until all the certifications are complete."

My comment, not the dealers: This is in retaliation from the EPA for the diesel situation. It made them look like fools… Payback is a b….

Well that's just great. End of September kind of sucks it's my favorite driving season. I would have just bought one of the 17s my dealer had coming in if it was going to take this long lol.

According to CashMachine over at the 718 Forum, his source at CARB says that the certification will happen at the end of this week.

I read someone claiming that this is retaliation against dieselgate. But looking at the CARB website, it looks like certification of VW group products happen through the whole year, and don't look different than other manufacturers. Hey, even the Bugattis and Lamborghinis have been cleared.

My gut feeling is that both EPA and CARB are now checking closely on emissions and not relying on the manufacturers' self certification. I know it annoys someone who is waiting, but I don't think VW group products are specifically being scrutinized. My gut feeling is that Porsche has been slow in providing the paperwork.
