Default Which would you chose - 2015 C2 GTS or 2017 C2S?

Sorry to start another variation of 991.1 vs 991.2, but I have been contemplating two CPO 991 choices:

2015 991 GTS with barely over 1k miles

vs.

2017 991S with sport package and just under 4k miles

Both cars are priced at around same level and have similar original sticker prices, at around 131k and both have option sets that fit my needs. Both have manual transmission.

Which one would you choose?

I have not driven the 2017 991.2S but I DO own a 2016 Carrera 4GTS. I think that the 2015 991 GTS has more bang for the buck: comes standard with Powerkit, Sport Exhaust, and a host of options that were thrown in for no extra charge. That is why I chose the GTS before waiting to see the 2017 and while they were still being produced. Frosting on the cake is the SOUND of the GTS's naturally aspirated motor at high revs. Simply INTOXICATING !! So, given the answer to your question, I would chose the 2015 991 GTS.

I've driven them both. I never buy used cars but if I was in your shoes with those choices, I'd get the GTS since it is the last of the NA engines. It also sounds a LOT better. It's also already depreciated more. The engine is proven and is a tank. It will last forever.

Turbo engines will probably be less reliable and more expensive to repair in the long run.

Drive them both back to back, then again. 20 minutes each drive, alternate between them. Decide immediately after finishing the last test drive. Go with your gut instinct, not what others tell you.

If you can't drive them, then maybe listen to others. Everyone here that owns a 991.1 will tell you GTS. Everyone who owns a 991.2 will tell you get the turbo. We're all biased.

You should get the GTS.

If both are priced the same wouldn't that mean the GTS is a better buy based on QPR.

But that said, from a pure driving perspective I will say that the 1.2 C2S is a fabulous beast. I recently had a chance to drive a friends car on the track for about 15 minutes and the turbo engine feels as linear as a NA engine. Better throttle response than it's bigger brother the 1.1 TT/TTS, and just eons better than the McLaren 570S.

I used to own a 1.1 C4S, and the new 1.2 feels so much more powerful. If no one told you it was a FI setup I'm guessing most wouldn't even notice. Especially as a daily driver or a weekend canyon carver.

That said, if you really want the last NA 911 Carrera, I suppose the choice is easy. But if you want a car that just drives better, all around, then I think you should take a serious hard look at the 1.2.

Good luck in your decision. Can't really go wrong.

991.2 C2S - handles better, is much quicker and has upgraded tech. The 991.1 GTS in the latter regarded is very dated.

I have a 981 GTS, this handles better than the 991.1 series, even has better sound and I have ordered the 991.2C2S - the sound difference is actually much more marginal than people on here claim and the added horses in the GTS give you a negligible performance increase over the 991.1S. The 991.2C2S outperforms the GTS by a significant margin - this has been discussed ad infinitum. The facts speak for themselves.

Test drive both, make your choice - If I were in your shoes I would get a new .2 C2S with S-PASM and rear axle steering.

You have to drive them both before you can decide, as it's a personal decision. But if it were me, and they were both equipped the way I'd like, I'd likely be going with the '17 C2S. The changes they've made to the suspension and steering really impressed me in my test drive, and the new S is really quick as well. But sound isn't a big deal to me. If it is to you, you might want to go with the GTS.
