Still running strong. Light track duty twice a year. Best car and reliability for the money I have ever owned, including my previous 88 Carrera. IMS was $1500 installed. Preventive maintenance. The original bearing was fine, but I sleep better.

Last winter I tackled replacing the alternator cable myself. Occasional hot starting issue, maybe twice a year, but never left me stranded. Changed starter while I was in there.

I like the Sport Chrono on my car. Navigation not the best, but I like having it. Bose, zenons, 19" wheels. All good options. I stiffened and lowered the car while dialing in max negative camber. Turns in with no understeer, and stays flat and stable thru turns.

Best thing I added was sport shifter and sport exhaust. Awesome sound and feel, much like a GT3. And LED tail lights just for looks.

Jump in there and go for it. Great fun!

Hi, Do you still have your 05 C2? I read you have 78k miles on it in 2011, wondering what other issues you may have had with the car.

May I ask how much the Indy shop quoted you for the IMS issue? Anything else you can recommend or to be wary of? I'm in a 335i now and I'm doing spreadsheet comparisons on waterpumps, t-stats, brake parts, oil, tires, etc. Basically price comparisons. Only problem with my 335i was my waterpump left me stranded and a $1k bill in the middle of winter. No fun, but knew it was bound to happen after reading the forums. But the probability was 95% failure rate before 100k miles. Anyway...

How many miles are you at now? What's one option you wouldn't give up? What option do you regret not getting in your C2?
Any other tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much!
    Hank
