The fastest and lightest best optioned car in the 991.1 cycle is a GTS rwd. It can never be speced that way with any S version 911. It's a unicorn and will one day respect big figures. A seven speed is even rarer. GT cars are unreliable and once turbos are unleashed the GT brand will disappear altogether. Same thing happened to the M brand of bmw. All M cars are factory built theses days and the M department is history.

Just additional FYI. CarGurus lists 83 GT3 for sale nationwide US and approximately 1000 911/S.

Only 55 GTS.

To be honest, I would bet ANY 7mt 991 will be more desirable in the future - if you are looking at pure numbers available for sale, produced, etc.

As to fancied up S models, sorry gts dudes but the 50th has your car beat by a mile - check values on those used.

Yeah the 50th Anniversary S is going to be a catch. But no doubt the 997.2 and 991.1 GTS MTs are going to be sought after. Just that little something special about them!!

Should we expect the announcement in LA?

Even though Im not getting one (keeping my current NA GTS), its always interesting to see what Porsche has up its sleeve.

I'd still rather have a 50th, to me, it's a better looking car.

The ultimate 991 GTS...LOVE the Club Coupe!

Such beautiful cars!!!

(Love the 50th, too, but the Club Coupe is very, very special!)

Yeah and all those RS's are asking $50-150k over list, while the GTS' are going for well under. The RS is in the midst of a slowly deflating speculator's bubble. The GTS is behaving just as expected, like a high option Carrera S.

I was not comparing dollar premiums . GT cars strongly hold values and have garnered somewhat instant collectibility status over the last several years. Not like the instant desirability and appreciation of the 911 R , 918s etc., but a similar albeit less dramatic dynamic. I beleive the 997.2 and 991.1 GTS will hold value and appreciate during future collectible cycles - 10 to 25 years out. 997.2 GTS's have somewaht already flattened out a bit relative to depreciation as year over year prices of 997.2s have stayed fairly steady. Obviously market trends will dictate . More importantly at this point owners are holding onto them because they are really really great 911s to drive and own. I have expererience with standard Carrera, S and GTS 911's and absolutely prefer my GTS over the other variants . Not saying the others are bad cars, but that the GTS just has a little something more special and involving. IMO , especially in 2 wheel drive 6mt format.
