This is very interesting.... thank you for posting. So, as I understand it, GTSs have not been announced yet. Does this mean, Porsche went ahead with the California emissions certification ahead of time?

and you dont want to build or announce a car that doesn't certify ... bzzzz
since this is govt I think this is a pretty clear indicator that the GTS will be a 17 and a 3.0L tt...

has to be, IMO, the .2 3.0L tt already comes pretty close to the Ring time of the 991 GT3, spec one with PASM-S, PDK, Sport Chrono, RWS etc and I think it
will give the GT3 a run for its money, if the GTS has a power hike (20bhp?)
then its as powerful as the current GT3, with more low end torque, put those
side by side on a track, I'm not sure who the winner would be?

This I have not been able to figure out. A short .2 cycle?? Seems doubtful and would be surprising. I initially thought they're pushing the variants out faster being nervous about .2 sales. They can't afford any sales fumbles. Obviously, there's been a lot said about loss of the NA everywhere. Not like it's been looked at positively with the enthusiasts.
Will be interesting ..

if Evo (or similar) took a .2 S or GTS with PDK, PASM-S, RWS, Sport Chrono etc
and pit it against the current (or even next GT3) or 911R I would not be at
all surprised if the the GT3 (or 911R) didn't have a tough time demonstrating
superior performance... do it at the Ring ... EPIC!

I wonder if (I use "if" loosely here) the value of the 911R will come down to mortal values if the 991.2 GT3 comes w/ the same 4.0L and a manual option. Just a thought.
