Installed a new alarm siren, since the old one was causing the hazard lights to flash when the car was locked.

Did it solve the issue and how hard was the install?

Seems to be a not uncommon issue.

This new siren fixed the issue! The flashing lights when you lock the car is more common then you think (at least for the 991.1 gen).

I recently installed mine as well. Simple fix maybe 10 minutes. I bought mine on eBay brand new from China for 69 bucks it was originally manufactured and hungry for VW. A lot better than the 250 bucks the dealer wants and works perfectly.

Porsche wanted $402 CDN for the siren. Audi / VW was clearly stamped right on the siren so I bought it direct from VW for $160 CDN. Yes, it was a very quick repair job.

I bought mine on eBay for $37.77. It took <5 minutes to install.

Our siren is part number 1K8 951 605 B.

See my post/thread here: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1314...l#post18329615

This eBay link should work: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1k8951605b

The one I bought was part number 1K0 951 605C and it works perfectly.

FYI I just listed up a lot of performance parts in the market place from my GTS that I just traded. Some pics below of the car with some of the mods before it went back to stock last week

- Suspension parts, adjustable LCAs and thrust arms, coil over conversion kit
- Styling parts, Techart type2 wing, Akrapovic CF diffuser
- Performance upgrades, Soul cats, Vektor headers
- Wheels and tires, HRE R101 light weights with Cup2’s

Another 991.2. I spent a lot of time on this forum so hopefully I will still be welcome to post mods on the new car
