I would think mine would be smaller at the flange because it's just on a Carrera. They seem to look almost identical to the Fabspeed ones pictured below. Edit: looks like the Soul pipes taper the same way too.

Swapping out Numeric shifter was a much easier job than expected
I dont think it took me more than 20-25 minutes, the entire center section is so modular, once you start pulling it apart in the correct sequence its almost like Lego
Thanks to several videos on YouTube (some by our own RL members) it was pretty straight forward (dont forget to mark the cables with a marker before disconnecting the stock shifter), the only applies to those doing just the shifter.
I played with the rod height for a couple of drives and have settled on one that is lower than OEM but higher than the lowest setting available.
The lowest setting available made the shifter too notchy and mechanical in my view (not in a good way). Adding some height and leverage is the sweet spot for me.
I can honestly say that if you are looking for a Huge improvement over stock, looking for less rubbery and more mechanical feel and most importantly looking for more precise and accurate shifts (especially downshifts where I feel the OEM shifter fails the most) the is a no brainer. Also, I see zero need ( for someone like me, for street driving) to add the cables. I am Not left wanting for more, the shifter alone is more than perfect.
Thanks for the review. I am trying to decide between Numeric kit or the DSC. Knowing you have both what made the biggest difference?
Numeric is hands down more of an obvious change and something that you will notice every time you drive
DSC "fixes" our flawed suspension controller and makes the suspension how it should have been, and after a few drives you start taking it for granted and dont notice it. ( well until you go back to stock like I did with my PDK GTS and realize what a huge difference it made)

nice write up. Did you buy but not install the numeric cables?
The Numeric takes a bit of use/time to settle in. I found it a bit notchy at first then perfect after a couple weeks. Though I also went from the stock **** back to my Function First ****. Love the look of stock, but hate the plastic both for feel on th skin, weight on the shaft, and flex in the mechanics.
To the question of what is more worth it, Numeric or DSC Sport controller, might depend on the quality of your roads but for me the Numeric for the price (relative to the controller) is the better value. Every shift you enjoy it, not just when you hit some surface and go "it handled that nice". You appreciate the DSC Sport controller, while you enjoy the Numeric shifter, if that makes any sense.

The 1.5 is stiffer than factory. I've only tried the 1.5. I'm sure you get used to whatever it is very quickly. I've seen people debate which is better, the 1.5 or the 2 but I've never seen anyone unhappy enough to want to go through the trouble to swap it. They'll both be fantastic compared to stock. Just remember to mark the cables during the swap, make sure they snap in properly, and give it sometime to settle in or for you to get used to it.
