I did it myself. It definitely was brighter. I would say
15-20% brighter . I did one side at a time and you could see the difference. I tried an LED bulb made for HID reflectors but could not get it to fit.
If you were replacing a halogen bulb you might see a nuch larger difference. I think for $180, it was worth it. HID bulbs get weaker with time, so I was due for a change. These are rated as one of the brightest HID bulb and are not blueish tint. It still is 35 W but if you went with a 55W balast, I guess you would see a really big change.
