Thanks to John McLane for giving me the courage to pop it off.

so how did you remove the mode ****? It looks great and so would do this if only Porsche sold a replacement in case I changed my mind.

Check it out and let us know if there is a part number and the price because I may experiment with yellow. I remove it by wedging a credit card under the left side of the selection ring and at the same time insert a thin console trim tool from SunCoast under the right side and pop it off. Apply even pressure to both sides and after a short prayer it will literally fly off.

Be aware. The part is NOT sold separately. Tried to no avail to find out who makes it to try different finishes.

I think TRW / ZF makes it, but they don't reply.

Found it on Massdrop, ordered today. Good value for the money, I think. Should be precise enough for track duties.

Some stickers make it faster. This one subtracts 50 horsepower. But I like it:

Red Centerlock nuts!
Actually purchased a couple of weeks ago, installed today.
Wheels are a bit dirty, raining here today, and predicted for the rest of the week.

Bought them a couple of weeks ago, here on the parts marketplace.
They were “used”, had been installed and removed.
They are for the 997, but fit the 991.

Those look great. I saw them offered on suncoast but held off because of discussions about whether they worked properly on 991 wheels. My guy at the local dealer was supposed to look into it but I've never followed up with him. I've seen a few others using these as well. I think the main difference between this 997 version and the newer nuts is a small groove on the face. You've got me interested again! Wonder if the red color is less affected by age/cleaning?
