Congrats. I pickup my Targa 4S through European Delivery in Zuffenhausen on April 26.

 

That is wonderful. Good luck. I was told by dealer yesterday that they have no specific dates for US allocations and it could take at least 3-6 months just to get an allocation. I hope its sooner and I am getting cold feet and thinking upon just ordering a C4S.

 

It will be a lot sooner. It appears Porsche has made an effort to push out all the variants as quickly as possible. In addition, it seems orders for the 991.2 are coming in slower than Porsche may have expected.... Which is not surprising. It is possible that your dealer may be "hedging" their position a little and the surprise you with a quicker turnaround...

 

Mine was confirmed in late November and Porsche had originally scheduled mine for production today, actually. Since I'm not picking it up until late April, they actually moved my production later, to March 11th. So , I think there is production space available. Don't give up!

I heard on this forum that some dealers had 991.2 and were offering test drives. I called my dealer a couple weeks ago and asked that question. They told me no such deal!

Now get this. I went to the dealer yesterday and the salesman let out with "oh we had a 991.2 out back a couple weeks ago".
Fvck them. They already got my deposit. Sounds like they did not to be bothered with me just looking a the car.

 

My Dealer called me and send me an invite to come see the new C2 they had there. No test drives though, I think it was Sat. 2/13/2016. I could not make the trip out there that day. I was told they are coming in for the launch date of 3/15/2016. I cannot find any information on available allocation anywhere on the net. I guess I have to sit pretty and play the waiting game!

 

So, my understanding is that dealers will hold launch "events" in the next month - one dealer near me will have an event on March 19. Has anyone in here received invitations yet?

 

I have received two verbal invitations from two dealers with both launch dates after March 21st. They told me I would get a formal email and they would also post it on their facebook page.

 

yes, it is odd to me that formal invitations have not gone out yet.

 

Congrats. I put a deposit down for a Targa 4S in mid-October and got my allocation in mid January for a 4/22 build date. Saw one at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. Very excited for this car!
