Interesting info on exhaust materials .. Stainless, titanium, inconel.

http://www.kline-innovation.com/materials/

Makes sense that thinner materials would produce a more distinct sound.

You are right. That was what I was trying to figure out too. I had a class 3 suppressor for a high powered rifle and the first blast baffle was made of inconel.

The company told me it was the one material that they found that held up to the heat and powder blast from the muzzle and lasted. Found this tid bit below.

When heated, Inconel forms a thick and stable passivating oxide layer protecting the surface from further attack. Inconel retains strength over a wide temperature range, attractive for high-temperature applications. Inconel is a family of austenite nickel-chromium-based superalloys

If I'm not mistaken, Kline is sourcing their Inconel from Cyberdyne Systems.

Lol The 600 series had rubber skin and were spotted easy. The new model is a "cybernetic organism", composed of a hyper alloy combat chassis produce by Skynet.

Later on they used a mimetic poly alloy, T 2000 model with quad tips. Basically liquid metal and microprocessor controlled to give Skynet and Cyberdine control over peoples ears.

Awsume is all i can say.... 991 SwitchPath™ Exhaust is incredible. Picked up on monday AM from dealer install in the AM, did not make it in to work all day. Oh the up shifts, the down shifts, all are a symphony of glorious sound! Best part, hit a stock button and it all goes away! Thanks 991 SwitchPath™ Exhaust, what a great product...! Now i dont need to upgrade the Bose system!

fyi, have a carrea S 2013 stock exhaust with 6K miles on it... for sale... cheap

Nice - Did you have PSE on your car before switching?
Just wondering if there is a noticeable difference when replacing a PSE with the SwitchPath...

im not real well versed here, but here goes: I dont think PSE and the sport mode are the same? i have sport mode, and when it was stock, it did give a deeper sound. But now, no comparison. Its like its on steroids.

Is the sound tone/pitch any different from PSE or is it just louder?

It's "snarlier" -much more aggressive and deeper. Also sounds more like a supercar, as vague as that is..
