Aside from the hookah pipe jokes, I must admit I've heard nothing negative about AWE before yesterday.

To be fair to them, they should address this issue as well.

More info on this "problem pipe"??

Is it out of warranty??

From my understanding not the original owner?

How old is it? Looks quite weathered.

If it's out of warranty for whatever reason, even Porsche wouldn't cover a factory part.

I'm trying to be fair here and not wanting to unfairly ruin a companies reputation on RL (aside from my attempt to be funny).

I like mine, it sounds unreal, and it has been problem free for all of the one month or so it has been mounted.. lol. From what I read all over from both porsche and (tons) on BMW forums, AWE makes a good product.

Here is what I know.. I have never heard of anyone having a problem until yesterday. What happened was one of the valves on a member's system (and not even the member you might think) is reportedly making a louder noise than the other. since the exhaust is on it's second owner, it appears that AWE is not immediately honoring warranty and/or claiming this is "normal". the upheaval seems to be based on AWE not resolving the problem of the exhaust's second owner, and/or the responses that owner was getting from AWE. this is all alleged and the circumstances could be different. i do not play an exhaust expert either on TV or in real life. i just like pressing the gas and making loud noises in tunnels and inappropriate places. best of luck to all, and I will report if I ever have a problem with my AWE. It takes 3 hours to swap back to PSE which is in my garage, so I'm not worried about it. ymmv

LMAO. I will enjoy my system that I have now. Things were made right, and no issues!

I had an AWE on my M4 and it was a solid, well designed system.

I am surprised they aren't doing more to help though, but I suspect as is always the case in these things we don't have the 100% full story. Don't jump to conclusions.

I have heard and seen far worse stories from vendors listed on this thread. There are some bad eggs out there but AWE isn't one IMO.

Lol. Think of the double whammy. Add some HRE wheels too. Where's the nitro pills. Would love to find that exhaust and them wheels in a box with a bow on it. Lol

I went with the Kline Iconel full exhaust. Couldn't be happier. Cost more but in the end seemed a better choice for me. Build was artisan level sound is amazing.

Cost of paying the sales tax over the alternative is worth it.
