This exhaust sounds incredible. Turns the GTS into a supercar, but quiet as stock at the push of a button if desired.
PM me, interested. Though I have a 4s without PSE, so may not be the right model for my car.

Adding this to my wish list now. I didn't think the GTS could sound any better. Excited.

Default PSE vs non-PSE

I recently purchased a 2013 Carrera S Cab and it does not have PSE. I was thinking about paying the dealer to add it to the car before I saw this thread. And now I have a question relating to the switch exhaust and PSE.

The AWE web site indicates there are versions of this exhaust for cars with PSE and ones without PSE. Since the exhaust appears to be activated from one mode to the other based on the rpm I not sure I understand what the role of the PSE switch. Does it just shut the AWE unit down when the PSE switch is off? Does it help to make it even more robust when it is on?

I guess what I am asking is "If I install this on a non-PSE car what am I missing out on vs. a PSE car?" I don't really have the funds (or interest) to install PSE on my car and then swap out that exhaust for this AWE unit.

Thanks .....

The AWE SwitchPath exhaust is my favorite 991 exhaust! Loud when you want it to be and tame when you want it. The AWE SwitchPath uses the cars factory valves. For those equipped with the PSE you can control the valves with the PSE button. For the Non-PSE the valves are controlled by the cars ECU or switching to Sport or Sport plus mode.

Track and Touring, all in one elegant SwitchPath™ Exhaust.

The AWE Tuning Porsche 991 SwitchPath™ Exhaust includes integrated valves designed to afford drivers the best of both worlds: A Track Edition Exhaust and a Touring Edition Exhaust, all in one.

How it works

The AWE Tuning Porsche 991 SwitchPath™ Exhaust responds to the exhaust valve position commands sent from your Porsche’s ECU dependent on your throttle input. This means that the AWE Tuning Porsche 991 SwitchPath™ Exhaust will transform from “Track” (The SwitchPath™ valve directs exhaust gasses away from the side mufflers, for Cup Car levels of “announcement”) to “Touring” (The SwitchPath™ valve closes, routing exhaust gasses through the stock side mufflers, for a sophisticated, signature AWE Tuning tone, at a volume slightly above stock). Exhaust volume change matches the driving style: Aggressive throttle input elicits aggressive exhaust volume; tame throttle input elicits tame exhaust volume.

And for PSE-equipped Porsche’s, all console button controls are completely retained.

The AWE turns the GTS into a beast! It makes the car sound like it should sound.

anyone in the bay area have this exhaust? sounds good in video, but not willing to take the plunge without hearing first.. maybe a group buy could convince me otherwise to offset risk. GTS sounds great already, so just want to justify the incremental improvement if any.. cheers!

Default I admit I'm a little confused ....

If this system goes on a car that already has PSE I am assuming that turning the PSE system on at idle it will open the valves and produce more sound -- is this correct? If the PSE is off then it seems that the AWE system will not open the valves at start or lower rpm -- but isn't this what the AWE system does anyway regardless of the PSE being off?

It also seems that on the S the valves are going to open at a specific (accelerating) RPM whether or not you have PSE --- so if you have PSE and have it turned off, does this stop the AWE system from opening the valves?

I guess what I am asking is that it seems that the only value of the PSE switch is to create more sound at idle and lower rpm's -- is that a true statement????

If anyone here is on the fence, send me your email and I'll forward you a video with sound from inside the car with the AWE system.

Homeles, i sent you a PM -i'd like to hear the video.

anyone have external acceleration video clips and pass-bys on a PDK car? really want to hear the AWE from the outside too. especially how the exhaust affects the gear-change noise in a PDK in terms of sound. i love the way the engine makes that pop/boom noise under accelerating gear shifts with PDK, and wondering if AWE accentuates that noise. i should probably just be buying an RSR thanks!
