Wow, that rear spoiler is right in the uncanny valley. They should make it bigger or get rid of it altogether (and they probably can't do the latter because it's needed to direct airflow for engine cooling.)
Especially if they raise the price, the next-gen 981s are going to be real turkeys. Sad.

If these are accurate, they've reversed course on the tail from the 981, which is dumb. One of the best aspects of the 981 over the 987 was the redesign of the rear end, including the way the spoiler integrated through the taillights. Why would they ditch that after one generation? Rest of the car looks only moderately revised and good.

Still has the new rear tail lights disguised so not yet quite 100% undisguised. Looks clean though. I like the new nose.
The 4 features I am really looking forward to are:
- PDK - Pulling back to change up instead of forward…at last, the way it should be
- The Sport/Sport Plus/Individual dial on the steering wheel \
- Rear wheel steer
- And yes…..the Turbo engine

I like the new Boxster headlamp shape ...their linear slanted inner edges now " point" upwards to the fender peaks, accentuating sense of width and at same time point downward the other way terminating in the scalloped out sharp tearduct in the fascia gives a waterfall effect to increase sense of lowness and forward mvement

In these 981.2 spy pics, the rear ducktail no longer terminates as cleverly integrated design element spears in the tailamps , but this makes it much easier being " alone in a valley " to change their shape, size and height freely for expected faster GTS,GTx , R , etc. variants to come

"Suffer" the same fate ...

"Just like the Boxster and Cayman are losing their naturally aspirated engines, the 911 Carrera and Carrera S will "suffer" the same fate as both will reportedly have a turbo-six 3.0-liter rated at 370 PS (272 kW) in the base model and 420 PS (309 kW) in the hotter S, so output will be up by 20 PS (15 kW) compared to the outgoing models. "
New wheel option??? Not bad! LED's look like bug eyes.
