HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
I respectfully disagree. One of the great things with everyone having cell phones is that messed up behavior makes its way to utube and people are held accountable. That is the value of the internet. This dealer, like most of them, is shady and participating in a practice that is illegal. It is illegal to advertise something you don't have or for a price you will not honor. This happens all the time.
Most buyers are not shady (98% or so ??) where most dealers are in fact shady (95% or so ??). Hard to quantify but my experience and that of others I know would verify the above numbers. Until their illegal behavior is brought to light it will continue. Imagine a world were you could purchase a vehicle and actually trust a dealer to be competent and truthful. Perhaps this panacea will exist in the next 100 years or so. Live long and prosper.

Let’s not make blanket statements here. We need dealers and they need us. It’s a voluntary exchange of goods. Both parties benefit.
There are shady people in all walks of life. Many tend to be on the buying end too.
No need to make these sorts of accusations here. It’s not what we do here. For as many shady dealer stories, there are as many shady buyer stories. They just don’t get posted on forums by dealers.
Let’s find nice clean cars for sale at fair prices and do proper posts. That’s all we can do. Help potential buyers find their dream car like we’ve done MANY times over and over. Too many happy 991.1 owners to count
They’ve been able to find their cars because of HFS and/or dealers who have provided that service.

Hi – I made the hard decision to sell my beloved 2013 911 C2S. Other than shameless self promotion I wanted to post here because this car was one of the original HFS listings! Check out page one of this thread and scroll down to find it (GT Silver w/ PCCB's). Thanks to STG and WAIZ1 for helping me find this car. I have enjoyed it but with a young family it is just not meeting my lifestyle needs.
Below is the link to Rennlist Classifieds with the full listing and pics. $79,500 w 18,2xx miles. CPO through 2/27/2019. San Diego, CA. Thanks for looking

Thats true
thus the qualifiers - double questions marks, "hard to quantify" and "in my experience" ? What would you estimate in your experience ? I do wish there were some hard data about dealerships being slime *****, that would be a great study.

Thanks for posting it here. This car has had two happy HFS owners here including yourself. Hopefully it can stay in the family here.
I had helped Woodranch through this initial purchase and it’s a great car.

From the article:
“You have to understand that, in Germany, once a decision is made, it’s made. As far as the company was concerned, the 911 was history. But I overturned the board’s decision in my third week on the job.
I remember the day quite well: I went down to the office of our lead engineer, Professor Helmuth Bott, to discuss plans for our upcoming model. I noticed a chart hanging on his wall that depicted the ongoing development trends of our top three lines: 911, 928, and 944. With the latter options, the graph showed a steady rise in production for years to come. But for the 911, the line stopped in 1981.
I grabbed a marker off Professor Bott’s desk and extended the 911 line across the page, onto the wall, and out the door. When I came back, Bott stood there, grinning.
'Do we understand each other?' I asked. And with a nod, we did."
