You'll see a bit of a softening soon. Key word
"softening" not tanking or free falling.

The spring fever rush is over and guys get busy now with summer/family stuff. July and August will bring more reasonable deals than April-June.

We had a decent run up and some aggressive pricing this past early winter and spring that will settle down again. We still saw some great deals, but a lot less of them and MORE on the high end.

We have seen some nice deals, but just a lot less of them than in the past.

These are my speculations. Obviously have no way of predicting the future 100%. Two years ago, I would never have thought we'd be at the point we are now either so quick.

These are interchangeable on the standard bumper only. They can also be painted which I've seen on some cars.

The sport one has a more aggressive look to it and looks a lot better in my opinion for the standard bumper.

2012 Carrera S coupe
26k miles
Cpo car with 2 year warranty from purchase (per ad)
MSRP- $114,195
Asking- $71,900
38% off MSRP

WP0AB2A93CS120942

https://www.parkplace.com/VehicleDet...-TX/3015017153

Great options, I would have been all over the car except that it doesn't have Entry and Drive option, which is on my xmas list

Talked to the sales guy.
  • Car has a full clear bra in front, wrapped around the hood
  • Minor peeling of the clear bra in one area
  • There is some damage at the bottom of the rear passenger rocker panel, nothing that cannot be remedied.
  • Strong service history on the carfax including recent tires, pads and service.
Car hasn't made it through their detail shop yet so it's not cleaned yet per se.

Someone says "falling prices" and someone that's accurate??

Where on earth has anyone seen any real price drops? I'm not seeing any.

Above listing we have only $40K off MSRP with 26K miles. I'd expect the same car for 10K miles or less normally.

Where are these "collapsing prices"??? I look practically every day for new listings, and I'm coming up short more often than not.

STG, I think this thread is getting so famous that either side is trying to influence prices by posting something here. You should be proud

Edited the listing so that my attempt at making a joke of 'falling prices' clearly went south. Falling prices or not, this car is priced well for a CPO/low mile/good options car that I believe someone could pursue.

Here is a data point on the market:
comparing this car posted above from Park Place:
2012 Carrera S coupe
26k miles
Cpo car with 2 year warranty from purchase (per ad)
MSRP- $114,195
Asking- $71,900
38% off MSRP

WP0AB2A93CS120942

https://www.parkplace.com/VehicleDet...-TX/3015017153

to my 2012.5 C2S bought at Park Place with 16K 2 years ago, $120K sticker, some extras: PPF, vortsteiner lip, CPO. $80K. (asking was I think 82)
Prices are definitely still up over the past 6 months.

Of all the options that are deal-breakers, entry and drive? Part of the magic 911 ritual is inserting and turning that left-side key And no, the irony of an ultra-picky 991 shopper saying a particular option should be a don't-care isn't lost on me...

That aside, I think you are right to pass on this car... To me, I want my cars to be nearly pristine. I don't like seeing signs that the previous owner didn't give much of a **** about his/her car.

At $72K ask /26K miles /2012 model year, I personally would not just want a cosmetically outstanding car, but at least some additional desirable and pricey options like full leather, sport exhaust, 18 way sport plus seats (in addition to the SC/SPASM).

Lol! The car will be a semi daily driver for me, I currently drive a S63 with keyless, so am spoiled. Plus, Entry/Drive still requires the rotation of the fob on the left!
