Nonsense - what about all those crazy sticker-edition 991's at 100k above MSRP that we can laugh about?
Here's a gem - CPO warranty good through December or another 11k miles...a 2012.5 991S with PDK/SC, PSE, sunroof, park assist (front and rear), heated seats, leather interior, and BURMESTER!!!! Oh, and PSP!!!!!!!!!
Squid42, nice selection of Targas - thanks. The Targa looks pretty stunning in Sapphire blue for some reason - maybe because the aluminum breaks it up a bit and accents it nicely.

I think that Sapphire Blue is overbearing when too much of the car is painted in it, as in a coupe. It also plays better with silver accents than with black accents. With black accents the blue stands out too much, with silver accents the blue appears subdued. Just don't order the silver window frames on a coupe pretty please.
For verts you cannot get brighter tops, so you have this huge bathtub made of screaming blue under the subdued fabric

It looks like Carmax finally sold the two 991 convertibles they had. Both attractive builds but no warranty and questionable appearance.
This has been for sale since last June. It was posted for just over $80k and is now $70k. It has been transferred to several different sites (NV, Cali, AZ at one point) which leads me to believe that people have seen it and actively passed on it. If it was due to the color, I don't think that they would've even wasted time to have it transferred. Also concerning is that it hasn't been driven consistently for almost a year and likely has been outside the whole time.
I'd def get a PPI or a quick inspection while you have the 5d trial period. Regarding the price? Hard to judge without knowing the extent of the damage/ repairs but the accident prior to/ during delivery doesn't help. The carfax ding will also kill future resale. I would pass for a cleaner, story free car.
So... I'm bringing this car back up for discussion.
How HFS is this car now? With it's accident record and a very questionable color combo-
Last Carmax 911 I looked at with accident damage had really poorly done repairs. If a car has an accident history, but it was minimal damage and absolutely first-rate repairs, I wouldn't mind owning a 991 that had an accident in its past (for the right price, of course).
But if it has poorly done repairs? Zero interest.
I'm not saying this car has poor repairs, but considering how quickly most 991's are selling and how long this one has been floating around, I'd give this one a zero probability of being a nice car. Maybe at under $60K I'd live with the color, accident, and whatever other issues that have been holding it back. At $70K, not a chance.
But that Carmax 4S sure looks nice... Bet it is gone by the weekend.
I thought that by now you would already be cruising in your newly purchased HFS 991. As others have said, accident, accident. But if the price nudges your interest, just transfer over to a nearby CarMax and look at it yourself
nice car if you like monotone. CPO with SC, PDK and full leather. I've not seen an umber interior in person; by pics it looks good
that lime gold one above has been floating around for a long time. Lime gold + accident pre delivery I think turns a lot of people away. I love lime gold but it is definitely not for everyone.
