HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
Another one of those sapphires, this time with 2-tone leather.
Again, not priced as attractively as the first one, but a huge improvement over what we have seen so far. Note that all targas I posted today are exactly three years old, which points to lease returns.
Control scheme is PDK+SC+paddles. 14-ways with just regular premium package (no LED headlights, no ventilated seats). Good wheel choice for a Targa.
$114,900 @ 8,136 miles, down from $138,330 msrp
http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-custo...0321b5&url=usa
VIN: WP0BB2A95ES133294
8,136 miles, $138,330 msrp, $23,430 loss
$2.88/mile
$676.32/month(w), age 34 months 2,818 miles/year (warranty)
$645.68/month(p), age 36 months 2,690 miles/year (production)
My main problem I have with this is that beige leather looks too pedestrian when on non-plus sport seats. Even when in two-tone.
Better trim (brushed alu or carbon fiber) would have been a great investment for this one.

Agreed. The Targa prices are starting to get more realistic the past 6 months.
The sweet spot for guys in the market seems to be $75K-$85K. Cars in that range are holding strong. $85K-$90K is an attractive price point too.
Any Carrera S coupes or cabs in ANY year over $100K will have a HARD time selling. At this point, anything over $100K having a chance selling are GTS's and Targas.

We are now leaving the "hot" price zone, but I wanted to add a Targa with manual transmission, and it is a nice build at least. (last one I promise)

It is interesting that the $13,000 or so "option cost" for the convertible go the way of most option costs and are worth $0 when reselling, but that paying the same to get the Targa looks like a reasonable investment.
(and the Targa forces you to get awd which was another -what- $8000?)

Hey. Times are tough! Haven't you read up on 991.1 inflation??
At least I'm not throwing out $130K Targas out there!
Who gave you the title of "Hot or Not Police" anyway?? Geez, I came up with the word HOT in HFS
A nice unique build here.

For a PTS and loaded gt3 it is a good price. The 991.1 GT3 is a bit unique in that it will be the only 9000 rpm engine in the Porsche line for a long time before and after. Prices are still above MSRP for most 991.1 GT3, so you can as well spend it on a cool one. Beats a 991.1 Turbo by a mile IMHO.
I didn't expect this much opposition, and I have other posts in the making. Carry on.

One more outburst like that will get you banned for a week

I'm curious how the Targa lease returns will end up selling (i.e. Will we see prices reduced to move them, wonder how many leased Targas that first year).
I know they're heavier but I've always been a Targa fan. I know the Sapphire Blue was a common color for them...lucky for me that is one of my all time favorite,Porsche colors! My only concern is longevity of the mechanism and rattles. If prices come down a bit maybe I'll just have my current C2 on HFS!

Ummmmm.....miles might be a tad high. Consider it broken in already!
I'll probably end up in a convertible, for starters because I prefer RWD. And the Targa is even heavier than the 'vert.
