I had already put a deposit on this one when it popped up briefly on HFS. It was not 50% off MSRP (closer to 35%) but very low miles, literally like new, and a build that checked all the boxes for me.
Turns out the car, which was owned by a gentleman who has a rather nice collection, pre-traded this one and another (RS5) towards a 2017 GTS.
The information I gleened from the HFS posts gave me a sense for the market and uniqueness of the build. Appreciate the help from all who post regularly on HFS.

I am new here and hoping to purchase a 991 as my first Porsche. This thread is great! I have read quite a bit and watch some you tube videos just to try to get a little more knowledgeable; my apologies in advance for posting something already discussed. Here is a car that I would to look at a little closer. The problem is I'm in the upper Midwest. Anyone in Southern California willing to help me car shop? Me... I'm a 40 y/o physician with a 6 and a 3 y/o. The 911 would be my daily driver. I like the white coupes. Do not mind the PDKs. Actually, I need that in case my wife needs to drive for emergencies. The bigger "S" engine is a plus. CPO would be nice but if I find a decent car for a nice bargain, I could leave money aside as "insurance" for wear and tear. This one has high mileage but fits the bill for what I want. Even seems to have the sport Exhausts. Any help is welcome.

I just posted in the HFS Alumni thread for those looking at market info.
My lesson learned for those searching: I drove a C4 and I thought it was great and started looking. By chance I then drove a 4S with Sport Chrono and Sport Plus and it was awesome. The difference was pretty big and I then knew I had to get the more aggressive package. you cant add this stuff later so make sure you prioritize the big stuff and definitely test drive the 2 models if youre into the performance....
I deprioritized color since I can always add exterior modifications to make the car unique (clear lenses, different wheels, or even wrap it in the color you want, etc) and stuck with prioritizing the stuff I couldnt change

Yes. Extreme. Bought the car I wanted, read more on the forums and became corrupted. The "make it mine mod" bug came out.
Next time would probably find a car closer to what I wanted with some options, but was a fun project. All 100% OEM and done right.
Sometimes I look at the pictures and wonder what was I thinking doing that much work?
I guess really helped with my knowledge about these cars and ended up with a car I'm very happy about.

... but good color combo, aerokit cup, ALL the GTS stuff with GTS interior, carbon fiber trim. Premium package plus including LED lights.
A pure RWD GTS. A have a hunch that this one might be fun to drive
