Well, if we are going to start talking about 2012.5 cars, I found the following in Santa Barbara. Unlike the Chevy Hendrick car, it has a CPO but, of course, more miles (27,617). Asking price is $66,850. I checked the vin and the original MSRP was $120,020. So, basically, you are trading 18,000 more miles for two years of CPO peace of mind:

For long time HFS followers, the Lime Gold 911S is still at CARMAX. I am having a hard time recalling when that car wasn't for sale at CARMAX.
That car may get sold some day, maybe when the 2022 992 GTS hits the street with its Mr. Fusion Drive.

It's cheaper to start with than the Hendrick car and has CPO. I think I'd lean towards this one for the warranty peace of mind, lower transport cost and likely a few grand in savings.

I checked out yet another (different) carmax car last week. Great in pictures, but when I had somebody go out and look it over carefully and snap some pictures while I was on the phone, several semi-deep scratches in the paint beyond what I was willing to accept...

New to the forum. First post over in the 997 forum regarding a 997.2 4S. Long story short, I drove a 991.1 C4 instead and loved it. I noticed this on the Porsche pre-owned locator and was wondering if it's HFS worthy. Thoughts? I'm guessing the condition might be rough because it's below KBB for a CPO...listed at 65k on the Porsche site but 69k on the dealer site.

To make it easier for guys to access I posted info.
33K miles, for a 2013 base model, I'd have to look at the comps. My gut feeling is that one can find a better deal with a lot less miles.
I don't follow them daily like the S/4S/GTS models.

Ok. Got some info in this car (not from this Chevy dealer). Can't go into too much detail.
Supposedly VERY clean (aside from pine needles
), and this Chevy dealer is pushing 60 days on it and probably are dying to get it off their lot. I'd go for it and start at $65K and hope for $67-$69K. I'd beat up on them hard.
This car with CPO at a P dealer would be pushing $78-80K. It has under 10K miles!!!
Some HFS buddy and future 991.1 owner will thank me later!

As someone who is relatively new to Porsche's I though it was very nice and had been well maintained until it sat on the chevy lot under trees for a month or so. There were pine needles and leaves under every crevice just like the engine bay. It drove well and paint looked great despite car being dirty.
When I sighted down the door panels from the end (makes any waviness look obvious) the tops were not completely flat where they met the glass. This could not be seen easily just by looking at the door panel from the inside and didn't bother me other then making me worry it would get worse in the future. The interior rubber gasket that sat inside the glass was folded under the door panel in places. There was SLIGHTLY more corrosion that I had seen on other cars on things like bolts in the door jam where tools had contacted them. I assume this was from the recent month outside
The car does have a CPO sticker in the drivers side door jam which MAY survive the Chevy dealer sale?
The build sheet didn't show "Premium Package" or "Entry and Drive" but the car DOES have doors that open when you push a button on the outside of the door handle with keys in pocket, the dummy key that stays in ignition, and a Frunk that opens with touching it if the key is in your pocket. I assume that was some option package bundled with the 18 ways.
I would be happy to take some high quality photos if someone wants to see something in particular. I live 5 miles away. I'd be happy to see it go to a good home despite them playing some games with me.
When the car was $73k I had offered $67.5, they said $70.5, They then said $70.0,with a "Hendrick 10 year (from new)" power train warranty and POSSIBLY a Hendrick 1 year bumper to bumper warranty which may or may not have covered wavy door panels if they got worse (salesman couldn't tell me and I didn't see it in the paperwork. I said $69k with their warranty and assumed we would get together in price when we met that afternoon. They then called and said there was other interest in the car but it was mine if I wanted it. I drove down there strongly considering paying their $70 and while I was there they said $71.5 because of other interest (or $70 without the Hendrick warranty). I didn't like the price being raised and was unsure of the door panels so I didn't buy it for more then $70. I wrote a negative review of them on google and on this thread.
They did call back a week later and apologize and offer to sell it to me for $70.0 with the Hendrick warranty. Probably because the other interest didn't pan out. Tony my salesman was good to deal with except for the price going up.

Thanks STG. I agree with you on lower 991.1 overlapping higher 997.2. I'm focused on AWD because I'm moving to the Midwest and want to DD it, and I'm focused on manuals because I'm a "manual guy" for lack of a better term.
I'm afraid 991.1 C4S are just out of reach. I've seen a couple with 30-40k miles in the $80k range, but most are way higher. The low-mileage, CPO C4 market seems to be around 75-85 based on what's currently out there, but maybe I need to be more patient and not focused on CPO...still researching.

Thanks for the refresh. So, is this possibly still on your radar for consideration?
