The car was never RED. Build sheet shows PTS.

So is this car on consignment?

** I emailed my insurance agent, and he says there's nothing they could pull up related to an accident. I sent out a few additional emails to see if I can dig anything up.
When I spoke with RAC they said the car was involved in a "fender bender" before the car was sold. It was sold at a discounted rate as new.
I believe this is the car from this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8326...-grey-c2s.html

You'd think in this day and age, you could get a simple answer about some car damage

I'm coming up with zero on it. The only way to get info would be to take it to a top notch body shop for a PPI if they're not cooperating.
STG is on the case!

From the thread started by the original owner, someone mentioned that it sat at the dealer for nine months. Too bad the original owner seems to have stopped participating in the forums.

^^ I sent him a message. We'll see if he responds. Maybe it was damaged prior to his purchase?

What a wild goose chase here.

So much for the "Dream Deferred" whatever that means. Yeah, that didn't last long we see.

Thanks for all the info guys.

The Salesman with the Silver car in Cary called this morning and said $70,000 with the "Hendrick Certification". I offered $69,000 (Halfway between where they were yesterday and where I was) and assumed we would come together today. He calls back 30 minutes later and said that someone from another lot was interested in the car but it was mine if I wanted it. I drove down to the dealership and took another test drive planning to pay their $70k based on responses here. I noticed the interior door sills starting to get a little wavy (wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been looking specifically for it). The salesmen mentions that he hopes management will honor the $70k during the drive which was the first I had heard of the price going back up. Back in his office I ask to see the deal paperwork and the salesman shows me a price of $71.5k and says it is because of the offer from another dealer in their network. I politely said I wouldn't consider anything over their previous ask of $70k and they say "have a nice day".

I am disappointed to loose the car that I was so close to owning that I didn't need to travel to a different state to see but there will be others.

Thanks again for all the Porsche education.

^^^ There will be others. Keeping looking here and in your own.

Screw them and their games. Hendrick is on the HFS blacklist now. Don't care if it was their Porsche dealership or not.

Lesson learned, need to move quick, and many dealers will give you the shaft at any moment. Worse than crack whor _ _ roaming the streets!

Watch your back and wallet!

The wavy door panels can be quite an expensive fix... Pretty easy to swap out, but the parts are very expensive (~$2K per door). And once they start to warp, they typically get worse.

I passed on a car last year for that very defect.

FWIW, the problem seems to be almost exclusively on early 2012.5 cars, without full leather, in hot climates.

I wonder whether you can operate an endoscope behind a 991's bumper covers.

That way you could have a look at the impact bars (the actual crash absorbers) and snoop around looking for gaps in frame joints and the link. You could also see whether the bumper cover itself is still cracked on the back (just filled and repainted).

Any 991 owning volunteers in Boston?

Unique c4s vert with low mieage. Not sure what gauge color swap out runs, but the red is just not getting it done for me.
