The devil is in the details, as you can see. I always dig as deep as I can into the cars I list to avoid any dramatic ones. Unfortunately, many of the ones you find at non Porsche dealers and "Bargain Bobs off lease cars" tend to come with stories.

Sorry - that's on me for posting.... I was just looking for low priced ones for a buddy.

I would think twice about an auction car... however, my last car had an airbag deployment record on carfax that was incorrect and surprisingly easy to dispute and correct with carfax.

I think there's a cautious mindset out there with the wise ones. This is also driving the lower supply. Same thing is happening in the slowdown of new sales of other motor vehicles and service/part dept's business up in sales.

Overall, I think many 991.1 owners are the enthusiast type who see their cars as "keepers". They're not stretched out buying them like other cars in the $150K+ range. Don't think they'd be quick to dump them should there be a downturn. They're not a fling anymore, but a member of the family.

A GT car that you bought thinking you'd have little to no depreciation that you stretched out to buy based on that is another story. Drive for free, make a quick flip, etc. all those are signs of something dangerous and not sustainable.

Also reason why the Macan is so hot. Low price point and the ability of being able to get into a "Porsche" for many. Many of those buyers are new to the brand with a recent uptick in income. They will drop like flies once the market corrects and things slow down.

The core enthusiast types tend to weather out the storms.

Anyway. I will try and dig up a few cars later today and tomorrow!! I have a reputation to uphold. Enough of the free market analysis to the Porsche marketing guys that are reading.

I will also add there has been a conscious effort on Porsche's part to uphold resale values as they support new car asking MSRP's. At least in the USA and I'm sure all over.

I would guess the chart looks something like this with regards to obtainability and people that can afford[or justify]:

50K = 1000 People
60K = 600 People
70K = 300 People
80K = 100 People
90K = 25 People
100+ = 5 People

The higher priced cars only have so many people that have the means to obtain.

what until we see lease deals on USED cars...

The new cars at that price range don't give you as much car.

One thing I will say is that there's an economic bubble that's been floating around for a while. You even see the craziness carried over to real estate, business lending, car buying, run up in prices, etc. When that corrects, you will see big adjustment on the upper end $150K ++ cars, over MSRP asking prices, etc. Even our beloved 991.1's will soften. Many people and businesses are very leveraged and things could topple quick if something drastic should arise economically.
When I bought my first 991S two and a half years ago, I was looking at getting my third Corvette (a C7 - I previously had a C5 and a C6). The C7 was very impressive but the prices (for a loaded one) had gone up so much that it was very close in price to a lightly used 991S. So pulled the trigger on my first Porsche and the rest is history!

I agree, not much out there in that price range (new) for sports cars compared to the 911. They are either creeping a little higher in new prices and out of that price range or they are called Corvettes. I still like Corvettes but it is very much a different flavor of car.

I think the main problem here is me. I have been actively looking for a 991.1 GTS and my wife always states whatever I am looking for is way over priced. It appears my bad luck has now struck the 991.1 market.

I guess I need to buy one and when I sell it, the rest of you guys can purchase then, as the price will plummet when I look to move it.

It is also on eBay for $109.9 or offer. Shipping is really cheap out of FL right now because of so many Snowbirds shipping cars down here for Winter stays.
