Could have been previously CPO'd at another dealer. They probably meant they haven't CPO'd it and maybe never checked the history?
If it was, the CPO will carry over to the next buyer. Same goes if selling privately FSBO. The CPO warranty does not carry over if the car ends up at a non Porsche dealer.
Ah ic. So does that mean, even if it says the waranty is 6 years, and if they tell me they haven't cpo, then in reality it only have 4 years? How do I know if it's definitely CPO when it has 6 yrs stated in the spec sheet?

If it has been CPO'd before, it's still a 6yr warranty if it meets the criteria I mentioned.
They can check in their system to verify the warranty end date and whether it already has a CPO in the service dept.

Cool Thanks for the explanation. I think it's a CPO, and all the cars I have been researching are only in porsche dealership confirmed with the carfax histories. Just really curious why they said it's not CPO when it is. Thanks for the helpful insights, this thread is awesome and wish I had stumble on this a few years ago when I was looking which I have since stopped due to busy work schedule.
That car is the EXACT clone of my car. EXACT, even colors, exact same options, etc. I bought mine 2 years ago with 7,200 miles on it...I have 18k miles now. I certainly didn't buy it at that price, though!
With a good PPI, I would buy that car in a heart beat....
STG: In your experience, does 6% off 991.2 gens also include S or 4S models? What about the new Targas?
At the right dealer, 5% for sure. 6% if you really shop around and push. Not like these are some scarce cars with wait lists. Of course some dealers may tell you that.
All depends what dealers you're talking about. Most in the hot markets like CA, WA, and FL might be lower like 2-4% and you'll have to work more.
Its never free to buy or trade for a nice Porsche, but i should also have mentioned that on my 991 C2S purchase, I moved up to an MSRP $32.5k higher than my Macan Turbo trade MSRP, for the same vintage and similar mileage, and also got close to 2 more years CPO warranty coverage. It cost me $17k, but I don't feel badly about it.
Would you be concern if a car was on the lot for 6 months even with good carfax?
You might get a great deal on it. I'd only have two concerns. . The battery may have deteriorated due to sulphation. The brake rotors might pretty rusty - when you get them fully bedded in they may have extra wear on rotors and pads. Not saying that will be bad, but it's worth keeping an eye on.
Great thread all! I'm a long time BMW M guy looking to try something different. We currently have am M6 and X5M and have had 6 Ms overall. I came across this one with all performance options in a color we love. They were great to deal with and reasonable with the price. Considered A GTS they have there but didn't like that it didn't have paddles, but buttons instead which I didn't like on the PDK.
