First off STG, great thread and great public service.
Second, has anyone put eyes on this car? Seems to have been for sale for a while now:

This is my first post on "Hot for Sale", but I have been following this thread for several weeks. You guys are supplying great information! After 15 years, I am considering moving from my trusty old 996 to a base 991 with 7 speed manual. Does anyone have any information on this car?

I have been concentrating my search on CPO vehicles, but this one has almost two years of factory warranty left and is more favorably priced. The Carfax is peculiar, though. The very first entry is from Porsche of Omaha with over 10k miles on the odometer. Does anyone have any theories? Should I stay away?
Thanks for your help.

What is MSRP? Have a VIN#??
Previous owner most likely took it in for service for the first oil change at 10K miles. Not unusual. I believe in sooner first oil changes, but that's another story.
How does rest of carfax look? Didn't see a link.
I don't follow the base models very closely. Mostly stick with S/4S/GTS.

The Carfax shows the first entry as an oil change at 10,478 at the original Porsche dealership, and the initial sale afterward with 11,413. Is it possible this was a demo/loaner, or am I completely misreading the situation? I was not aware that dealerships put that many miles on a demo/loaner car. Also, I just noticed that a new line item has been added to the Carfax for reprogramming "PCM" and "Computer". The strange thing is that the work was done at a BMW Mini dealership.
I realize the circumstances are odd enough that I should probably look elsewhere, but it is hard to ignore a car so close to my target configuration at what may be an attractive price (though I am not yet well-versed enough on 991 pricing to be sure). Also, there seems to be an opportunity for some self-eduction here. I have owned 4 911s over a twenty year period, and have never seen a history quite like this one.

STG and Co - first, let me say what an awesome thread this is. I've been lurking for the better part of a year and it's been enormously informative. I'm finally starting my 991 search in earnest.
Question: is it safe to assume that any car that gets sent to auction is probably not top tier? I work in the auto industry and have some fairly senior connections at Manheim who have offered to let me take a spin through any of their lots in case I find something to my liking. I've read here that most of the 911s that make it to auction are ones that dealers can't move though, so I'm wondering if this is even worth calling in the favor for.
For reference, I'm in the SF Bay Area and in the market for a C2S Cab. Strong preference for black (white is second choice), with PDK and Sport Chrono being the only must have options. Nice to haves include CPO, PSE, 14/18 way seats, Sport Design Steering Wheel, and Carrera S/Sport Techno wheels.
Here are some listings I've got my eye on currently:
- 2014 CPO black C2S cab with 9k miles, asking price $93k (vs MSRP $135k)
- 2013 CPO black C2S cab with 17k miles, asking price $84k (vs MSRP $129k)
Would like to keep purchase price under $90k.
