Since I’ve seen it a few times now, I assume it’s some sort of psychological thing where if people see the price going up, they think they have to hurry up and buy it before the dealer raises the price again since they are seeing so much demand?
That and it gives them the chance to later have the ad show "Price lowered" as if it's some kind of deal. Not everyone is watching the market and ads as close as you or us. The fact that I know the exact car you are talking about gives you an example of that Not sure what's up with those guys in SD, offer them $85 (I almost did)

lol - there are a few closer to home (South Florida, so can’t get much further away) that I have my eye on - but it isn’t something I need so have yet to make a serious offer on one - and I might never.

Hey you're in luck, I'm about to fly to FL to pickup a car, I'll pick it up for you and drive it to FL!

2012 pdk vert in rare colors. Top looks to have some stains, but it looks to me that can be cleaned. One owner last 11 years. Mileage for a car that age and sub 70k price tag is about right to keep it in shape.

You can see a significant amount of brake dust on the wheels. I don't even let my cars get that dirty, much less try to sell them looking that way.

Yah this seller is sketchy as hell, avoiding any real detail on the repair questions, or flat out not answering them. I'd avoid.

Next time I'm going to be more cautious when I claim that this is how an AD should look like. I didn't notice these deficiencies except for the rusting at the engine. At least that was not left out.

So "our" San Diego car sold, and I now have a theory. The last two times I've seen a price increase on a car that has sat for months, the car has sold within a week. So my hypothesis is that after they actually sell the car, they raise the price by a few thousand dollars before they take the ad down to make it seem like it sold for near that asking price.

I would definitely not consider this HFS... 80k for this car is pretty ridiculous imo. Standard seats, standard interior... There are a few nicer cars listed on PCA classifieds for similar prices, and I'd even consider those to be overpriced as well.

Yea but I'm not going to pay $10k for 2 years warranty. If someone is that concerned about warranty just buy a non-CPO car and get an extended warranty for 1/3 of the price.

I almost bought this car but at the time I thought it was overpriced with the miles that are on it.

They just lowered the price another $2k and it seems to be a pretty good deal for a one owner, manual, non-centerlock wheel car. No CPO because they wanted the price to be lower to attract buyers, DME came back perfect.
