From Automotive News:
Porsche’s U.S. dealers sold more certified pre-owned vehicles in June than they have in any month since they began marketing them 17 years ago.
The brand sold nearly 3,000 CPO vehicles last month, vs. 5,000 new vehicles, Porsche Cars North America CEO Klaus Zellmer told reporters last week.
CPO activity “is at absolute record levels,” he said from his home via video conference.

I don't understand it one bit. I was talking with a director at JLL today and she said the next 9 months are going to get VERY bad in the commercial real estate market. Leases aren't being renewed and new companies aren't moving in, along with mass layoffs (she said subletting is growing like crazy as stressed businesses are trying to get out from under lease obligations they no longer need) being made. I really don't see why everyone is rushing to buy a luxury car at the moment. If commercial real estate is getting crushed, investors in every segment of the economy are likely to not fare well. Commercial real estate is a huge bellweather.
That being said, there are still sectors that are extremely busy and actually hiring. I work in data analytics for the pharmaceutical industry (parent company runs global clinical trials) and my wife works for a pharmaceutical company (who is working on a vaccine, but markets commercial products as well). We have never been busier and are having very good years so far.
Porsches are not a run of the mill car nor do they have the same clientele that the majority of auto makers depend on. This is a luxury brand owned by typically successful individuals. Median household income for a Porsche owner would be in the $300K+ range (that's in the top 5% of earners in the country).
The economy is not affecting these buyers as it is affecting the majority. My brother-in-law is the president of an $8.5B division of a major International corporation that moved his investments around when the stock market dropped and he made an extra $400K.
I found that prices are remaining strong. I've still been looking at cars for sale, even as I'm finalizing my own, and still haven't found a better deal. Good cars are definitely going quickly. Even ones that I had thought were way too high are still selling. There's no reason for a dealer to negotiate if the person standing behind you will pay asking price.
I'm sure this is nothing you don't already know, but it is definitely interesting times...

OK. Back to the cars for sale.
A friend told me about this one, said to be a gem, for $96k asking price.
I am not trying to break Rennlist's advertising rules, but how good a deal is this? a spectacular 2015 Porsche 991 GTS with only 9,600 miles. It has a Porsche warranty until 2/2021 and is a private party sale with no dealer tax

‘17 991.2 GT Silver C2 MT
My ‘17 GT Silver C2 MT will be CPO at Porsche of Tyson’s in August. It has 30K miles on it, and those are all road trips. It wasn’t tracked and it’s been trouble free. It was maintained by Tyson’s, and has a new set of Michelin’s last year - maybe a thousand miles on them, but probably more like 500. Here is the build sheet.
If interested, I can give you my SA’s name.

It is actually a bit too high for a private buy. It is a PDK, which is easier to find than a manual. A better deal would be around $90K or a little bit below. You have a lot of options at the $96K price point.
Here's a blue PDK for $87K with only 14K miles on it.

Here's another PDK car that's in your price range with only 7600 miles on it for $93K at a dealership

I found a 4 GTS with a manual for $95K with only 9700 miles on it.

I don't know if you're hell bent on the NA engine or not, but for that kind of money, you could get a CPO 2018 911T for $94K

Manual 2019 GTS for anyone looking. 237 miles. Not at a Porsche Dealer, so guessing there might be a story on this one, but seems MT are hard to find these days.
VIN: WP0AB2A94KS115649 $124,900

No sure if anyone has seen this one. Just came up with a nice spec.
2017 C2 manual in GT Silver Metallic with 17K miles on it for $80K. One owner so balance of factory warranty should be available.
