There are 1,000,000 different scenarios out there. At the end of the day, do your homework and know what a fair price is. As hard as it is to find close to ones "ideal build" you have to take many factors into consideration. There's not a one size fits all approach, although some good pointers a few posts up by titleistaddict87.
For example, gbree's Guards C2S, the minute I saw that car I knew it would be gone in days. Great build and priced competitively. He knew what he was looking for and jumped on it with a slight discount. In that case, had he milked it out with back/forth emails/calls for days it would have been gone. Many "should of" and "one that got away" stories out there too. It's a crazy game either way you look at it!!
Not to mention, any cars I pick out to post are chosen because their geat builds and fair prices. I see plenty of overpriced cars out there that I don't post. Trust me, any car I post, there isn't $10K worth of discount on there. Not even $5K in most cases.
The white C2S with PCCB's I posted yesterday? The guy said he may bump up the price again in a week. If that car checks out, it's worth $85K in a minute no questions asked.

Hi guys,
I'm looking at a 2015 Carrera 4 GTS with 5k miles (a lease returned to dealer for some reason). Car is a manual, sport PASM, PDLS+ and is CPO.
The build amounts for $140k and their asking price is $129k.
What do folks think would be reasonable deal?
Also, since it's a CPO with little mileage, should I still have a PPI done?
I was told that over revs would show on a CPO exam…

I've had my eye on a 2012.5. I'll probably go back and take another look at it soon. It has 10k on it and 6 months left on dealer warranty. Not a dealer selling it so CPO isn't an option. I'm seeing similar cars with CPO right at around 75-80k which is the current asking price for this car. Since the warranty is about up I would need to look at a 3rd party warranty for it and discount my offer accordingly... or keep looking for a CPO'd car.
I've looked over the sight for extended warranty options and costs but what do you guys think? Better to just wait for a CPO'd car or, given the right deal, get this one and drive it under factory warranty for the next 6 mos and then get a 3rd party warranty?

This car has been listed for months here in the SF Bay Area with the asking price dropping about $2k over the last month or so alone. I recognize the ad because they all say "...ONE OF THE HIGHEST MSRPS YOU WILL EVER SEE FOR THIS MODEL AT $123,845!" I inquired about the damage and was told it "wasn't bad and completely repaired". Though the seller didn't have specific details on extent of damage, so a PPI is a must. I thought this had a salvage title too, but didn't see it noted on the Carfax.
I almost went to go look at it, with my trusty Durametric cable and laptop, but in the end decided it wasn't worth the risk. Plus I expect to sell it one day so I can buy a newer 911 and that accident record will always be there, forever impacting the resale value.
That said, I agree with others that it's very well a chance the repairs were more cosmetic, however this car has been on the market for a long time so I'm sure if it was that good a deal it would be sold by now.

I'm considering two '13 C4S's and would like opinions please. Both are PDK, include PSE, Sport Chrono, Premium Package Plus Adaptive Sports Seats and offered as CPO:
Option A) Build price: $131,775 Listed: $83,900 22.4k miles. Platinum Silver/Black
Includes PDDC (no SPASM), SportDesign Steering Wheel
Option B) Build price: $132,485 Listed: $87,900 19.6k miles. Black/Beige
Includes Burmester, MF steering wheel, rear park assist
It's essentially PDDC versus Burmester and the color combo. I'm not a big fan of black, having owned several black cars over the years (they looked great in the show room!), but I thought the Black/Beige is in just a bit better condition overall.
While the Burmester does literally sound pretty amazing, I want to hear the music from the PSE open! I really couldn't tell much difference with the PDDC, though the route I took didn't provide much opportunity for twists and turns.
Oh, and I like the dealer selling the black one more than the Silver...for what that's worth.
Appreciate any thoughts!

heh - yes, SoCal (or all California for that matter, although it seems NorCal is less aggressive) is not the best place to iron out a deal. Not many dealers with manual GTS out there though.
So $120k would be more reasonable?

Wow, this one looks great - thanks for the pointer!
Is there a way for someone to search for new cars nationwide?
The Porsche web site requires a zip code to narrow down its search...

Hey STG, happy New Years to you as well. Some nice cars out there. 2016 should be a good year for some deals. Always checking this thread. That white MT sure got my attention. Wish it was CPO from a Porsche dealer.
My brother is enjoying his 13' 991, as am I. He just had her detailed, added clear bra, etc.
Cheers:

This is a really nice 2013 S cab in Jacksonville. I've driven it and gave it serious consideration. Decided to pass because do the miles but someone should take a serious look at picking it up.

This car seemed to be in very nice condition! No paint work that I could tell and the front bumper had very few and only minor marks. They are getting a lot of activity on it and seem to think it won't last long.
