I need to get a plate soon. I may just go turn it in to get a normal plate.

Blue GT3 is gorgeous. I've missed the discussions about this problem with the 991's....

That is my favorite color GT3. Looks amazing.
Is the hesitation issue related to the engine or PDK vs Manual transmissions?
I plan on getting a C2S with a 7speed manual.

I seems to affect about 30% of them. It affects Manual, PDK, 2 or 4, S and Base. Mine started around 4,000 miles. Others have had it from the beginning.

I'm totally with Eduardo on this. There was a thread on this recently where someone said he talked at length with an engineer who'd worked at Stuttgart and claimed they know all about this. But he was calling it a vibration, not hesitation or stumble. Whatever it is, it seems to go back well beyond the 991 to the introduction of Vario-Cam, as people have been complaining of this same issue at this same rpm range ever since. If a third of all cars are affected, that is a very, very big number.

The genie is out of the bottle now & you can't put it back in. Porsche and its 991 owners either have a serious problem in their hands...or they don't! And if there is fire to this smoke, some lawyer(s) and a class action suit will find its way right into the middle of it! That is the kind of litigious society we live in. So I don't think we can, or should, dismiss the problem and just happily/merrily follow you into the gt3 forum to continue to enjoy your descriptive & usually helpful posts! I think we need to discuss this problem here on this 991 forum and try to get some further clarity on the issue & how many others are affected by it. Plus what, if anything, is PAG & PCNA saying about it...even if it is to dispute that there is a problem at all!

Very concerned,
Eduardo
Carmel

.
Very well said, Eduardo.

To the OP, beautiful car and enjoy in good health.

I am almost mad that you went with sapphire blue. I came close but in the end I ordered metallic white. I'm sure I'll be staring at your sick detailing skills for many months to come! I have no doubt that yours will be the best looking sapphire blue on Rennlist.

Hi Money,
I was sad to learn of the stumble issues with your C2S and the ultimate trade in of your immaculate vehicle.

It appears that the stumble may have to do with the vario-cam.

So does the GT3 not utilize this vario cam? So the GT3 is immune from this issue?

Naturally, I am concerned about this stumble, though I have not noticed it on my preowned '13 with 10k miles.

Thanks for the info you passed along re the value of your trade in. I agree with you, in that , I would not want yo live with a stumbling $130k car.

With all due respect and I love your GT3 with the blue, but you have been a strong member in the 991 world. Lots of people respect you and love to read your posts.
If ANYONE could have got Porsche to recognize this and FIX this problem it would be someone like you Matt. I think you would have found that would PCNA fix the issue, and you would have fixed it for everyone. If they DONT fix the problem maybe you would have got Porsche to let you buy your GT3 and NOT LOSE the $30K! Or at the very least you would have made Porsche compensate you and all hesitation 991s, to get their money back and get a 911 that DOESNT have the issue.
I am worried now because I only have 1200 miles and your issue showed up at 4K miles.
At the very LEAST you should STILL FOLLOW the issue and GET BACK the THIRTY THOUSAND you lost because of Porsche.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I really believe I could have gotten Porsche to either fix my car or get me a new one. That would have required a dozen or so trips to the dealer to let them tear apart and drive my car around. I would have also had to write letters, make countless phone calls, possibly hire an attorney, etc, etc. Every says "lemon law." The only problem here is that the car doesn't even have a check engine light, so it's our word against theirs.

Although I'm not wealthy, I had the means to take the loss and trade the car. I chose this option rather than dealing with the stress and pain I would most likely have to go through. Not to mention give my car to someone else to tinker with over and over again. This transaction does put a little financial stress on me in the short-term, but this option was more appealing for someone wound as tightly as I am. I am still a little young and impulsive to be able to pay cash for the GT3, but I was able to make it work without changing our life.

My wife has been great through this whole process. The GT3 was not part of the plan. Shoot, I bought three cars inside of 10 months! That's the whole story guys. I still have confidence in Porsche, I just wasn't willing to invest the time and energy.

Very sad, and happy story, at the same time. Looking forward to your 991 GT3 journal. Greatly enjoyed your C2S X51 one.

As for the issue... I see the 6sponline thread. Is there one here on Rennlist I can follow? If not, we should probably start one.

Matt, tell us more about the new GT3. How did it become available (open allocation that went unsold...prior buyer bail after the stop-sale.......PCNA auction buy-back......etc.)? Did it have the motor swap state-side or in Germany?

Again, car looks great. Enjoy.
