I was told yesterday by a very reliable source at a Porsche dealership that the information embargo will end in the next few days. I wasn't given any further info, however. I'm interested in the rwd coupe, and if they only make one model that will be it. So I didn't ask about cabs, awd, Targas, etc. It seems our long wait is about over.
I'm #1 on their list to order a GTS as soon as they can do so.

I wonder if the pushed up date has anything to do with M and the big reveal of the AMG GT?

It seems odd to me that porsche didn't use the Paris Motor Show to do the big reveal since it was what they announced the 997 GTS. Also, if they are indeed planning deliveries in Europe for December you would think they would want to give enough lead time.

I wonder it it'll come with a conventional "sport suspension" like the Caymans (all of them) have. I'd also think they'll give it something more than the power kit. Not much but something, even if it's the same hp with a few ft lbs.

They give themselves so much leeway there its easy to claim an extra 5-10 hp any time they want- and even have it be true. If they want. As I recall the 997 GTS mysteriously gained hp just like that, somehow having a few hp more than an S with X51, 408 I think it was, an odd number until you consider it helped salve the wounds of all those buyers when the 991 came out a much better car all around (and a lot more car for the money too) only a few months later. Blown away in every other area, but at least they get to say "8 hp more!"
If the 991 GTS does mysteriously gain more than X51 it might even be bad news, in the sense it could presage the 991.5 seeing a hp increase as well, that would negate the GTS gain. Again. Never underestimate diabolical Porsche marketing!

No, the 997.2 GTS had the standard X-51 kit. Porsche did not claim it had any extra horsepower above that. The S was 385 hp; the X-31 added 23 hp; and the GTS had 408. Nothing above the X-51.
Every GTS they've made so far has been essentially a "parts bin" car in which they add bits and pieces to the S model. Using that metric, will they add extra hp above 430? No. Could they add rear wheel steering from the GT3 to the 991 GTS? Yes, they could. I wouldn't really expect something to filter down to this level from their "halo" cars, but when you think about it, that's exactly what they did with centerlock wheels on the previous GTS. Those wheels were only available on the GT3 and Turbo, but they added them to the GTS. So is rws coming? We'll know soon. I don't expect to see any power bump over the 430 hp from the X-51, which incidentally was also standard (in the US, anyway) on the 50th anniversary.
The waiting should end soon!

Oh heck, I didn't say THAT! I'm on record as disliking them, and I sincerely hope that the 991 version will again be available with standard wheels as an option. I went through 5 or 6 sets of tires in the 2 years I had my 997.2 GTS, and changing tires was a pain every time.
