There is only one word for the OP:
Miata
It is without question more exciting to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Take this to heart and go find a Miata that suits you.
We will continue to enjoy (most if not all aspects of) our 991's, and you will get some money back from your error. We will not be offended!
Good luck!

It defies logic to buy any sports car to sit in traffic. Why would a 993 be a engaging car to drive single file in a line of traffic. Keep in mind I would like to have a 993 for a saturday cruz but not in congested areas.

Where are you getting this from? I'm referring to normal unimpeded roads and roadways. Not sitting in a traffic jam.

Women have much less upper body strength than men. Sitting closer greatly compensates for this. Power steering may not require much strength, but sitting close still gives them significantly more control. Also very few women are macho. Many men suffer from the stereotype of the macho cool dude sitting way back, one arm draped over the wheel, other one half out the window. Or maybe its a misperception of F1. Whatever it is an awful lot of guys sit way too far back. Watch just about any race driver, or anyone who's been well-instructed (and learned from it) they all sit close with a lot of elbow bend. So emulate the women, Mondrian, emulate the women!

I have it down to insecurity - too close to steering wheel means you are scared of loosing control, too far and you are over confident. Works between people too!
No matter how you read the above pic, wrist over top of s/wheel or 90-120 elbow bend she is way too close.

Look at it this way. Probably there is something in your life where you have had to learn the correct technique in order to do it well. Could be tennis racket or golf club grip. Tie a suture. Ride in echelon. Rappel. Whatever. In each case, once you learn and become proficient, you can always spot the clueless novice. Think about it.
