Prospective C2S config...
Hey Guys,
After going around and around (and around) with the configurator and considering and reconsidering all the possibilities, here's a link to my (nearly) final config:
http://www.porsche-code.com/PDGRK5L6
I ultimately rejected PDDC (not applicable to my desires/mission for the car), Burmester (I almost never listen to music when driving), and ParkAssist (still on the fence, but wish it included a backup camera).
All suggestions welcome...
Ken

First off I don't like wood for a blue interior (which I think is excellent),....go with Carbon Fiber trim instead. That carries with blue nicely. Wood is nice with brown and tan colors.
Ditch the red seat belts for silver,...again very nice with blue.
With all the extra leather, get the $1200 back center column in leather. That also makes the arm rest a much nicer leather with seams. Otherwise pretty nice loaded spec.

Cool. I really appreciate the input. My thoughts interspersed below:
I'll check this out in the configurator and give it some thought. I don't usually care for CF, and I do like wood, but I'll certainly ponder it...
Red belts with blue seats is kind of a tradition for me. I built one of my airplanes that way years ago and always liked it. I'll check out the silver, though.
I thought about that one, but wasn't sure I'd like the arm rest seam. Thought it might be uncomfortable, but I can be convinced otherwise... :-)
Thanks, again, for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Burning Brakes
I too prefer a backup camera (and had one installed onto a 2009 C4S with the head unit replacement we did) but the front and rear park assist on the 991 has helped me learn the boundaries of the car when pulling into a spot as well. I personally would order it again, even without a backup camera.

faux wood trim does not belong in a modern 911 ... end of story!

and you could save yourself a ton by deleting all that extra leather trim, my GT3 came like that (dealer spec) and frankly its all a waste of money ... YMMV

Whether I'm emphasizing the 'luxury' or the 'sports' will vary on any given day, but I want the option for both. That's one of the reasons why I really like the 991; it seems as though Porsche has finally gotten the compromise right, at least for me.

I think its faux in the sense that its a veneer of wood ... to me its a bit "old mans car" ...

I just can't bring myself to accept the alternative on a car at this price point. My mission for this 991 is not to be a stripped to the floorpan racer, but to be a very comfortable, modern luxury sports car.

as I say, there is no right or wrong here, there is what appeals to the individual, but since you asked for opinions, this is mine!

No, it's cool. I totally appreciate the input. Hope I didn't sound defensive.
I hear you on the 'old man' car, vis-a-vis the wood trim. I'm only 46, so I'm not ready for the white, patent leather belt yet, despite living in FL.
I'll continue mulling...

glad to hear that you are not sporting a white patent leather belt yet ... another thing to think about with the wood wheel is "grip" ... the wood and carbon wheels can get "slippy" and "hot" in your climate ...
btw I was serious about doing ED ... take a 2 wk vacation, collect you car in Stutgart, do the factory tour, see the museum, drive around europe ... drop it off come home and have the memories of a 1-of-a-kind vacation!
BTW have you thought about doing "Paint To Sample" exterior of your choice?
