I too think the CF will look much better with the blue interior. I just hope they've improved the quality of CF used... Better read this :

You are the world's greatest expert on you!
Get the colors and trims that you like, opinions are great for technical options, but colors and trims are totally subjective. Besides, I love seeing people do something different, besides the usual colors.
Like you I am deciding on colors and trim for my order, but I will not ask for anyone's assistance, unless of course they want to help me pay for it...good luck and be unconventional.

Another alternative to the wood would be the trim pieces painted exterior color. The dark blue pieces on the inside would look great.

I have ordered a guards red 991 with center column trim exterior color, but the dash and door trim in CF. Those in guards red would have been too much, but all the trim pieces in dark blue would look great.

I had a Cayman S a while back, Atlas Grey (dark bluish grey) with Sea Blue interior. The interior pieces were painted Atlas,....it looked great, really ties the car together.

As others have said,...it's all up to you. Sometimes I think choices are bad, and then see them in person and they're pretty cool.

First off I don't like wood for a blue interior (which I think is excellent),....go with Carbon Fiber trim instead. That carries with blue nicely. Wood is nice with brown and tan colors.

Ditch the red seat belts for silver,...again very nice with blue.

With all the extra leather, get the $1200 back center column in leather. That also makes the arm rest a much nicer leather with seams. Otherwise pretty nice loaded spec.
Agree with Rocket boy. Also, have you considered having Deviated stitching in say silver to accent all that blue leather? It would really highlight the blue interior nicely. A good person for you to have assit you is Melissa Witek from Porsche's exclusiv division. She was a great help in helping me with my custom build.

I'd save and skip the power kit... Not sure how "useful" it is (if you see where the increases are in the power band).

No stress at all.

the wood and carbon wheels can get "slippy" and "hot" in your climate ...
A fair point. Might have to wear my Sparco gloves...

btw I was serious about doing ED ... take a 2 wk vacation, collect you car in Stutgart, do the factory tour, see the museum, drive around europe ... drop it off come home and have the memories of a 1-of-a-kind vacation!
We're definitely considering it. The problem is, if I'm driving around Germany, I'm likely to stop in Glashutte at Lange, and that's going to cost more than the 2-week vacation!

BTW have you thought about doing "Paint To Sample" exterior of your choice?
Thought about it, but didn't want to wait that long for the car. Maybe on the next one...

Putting my proposed spec out there for comments was definitely an out-of-character move, as I don't usually look for others' opinions or validation in any context whatsoever. However, this forum has been of such help in my 991 researching process, that I thought I'd give it a shot.

Anyway, there've been some good ideas on this thread and I'll definitely give my build some renewed consideration.

I did see that, yes. I'd actually prefer having the leather done to sample in a darker shade of blue (closer to Dark Blue Metallic), but I definitely don't want to wait as long as that would take.

I like the look, but wouldn't want to add any extra build time for the sake of stitching. Worth an inquiry, certainly.
