VTS Error Code
Any updates on this issue?
Having both a 2019 991.2 and a 2017 Macan , I have some concerns about the VTS roulette wheel stopping on RED each time I start either car!
I did subscribe to PCC for both cars during the free trial as part of the CPO coverage. Both subscriptions have expired.
Factory warranty expires in June for the Macan, and September for the Carrera T.
Hope I don’t need the CPO warranty for this issue!
Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

I only mentioned it because I bought my car CPO in 2020 and had subscribed to the Navigation & Infotainment level of their service, so the entire procedure was cost-free for my car. It was pretty painless and seemed to improve the functioning of loading data.
You could probably pretty easily talk your local dealership into goodwilling it to you on the grounds you "really want that service" though.
I think this was brought up earlier and due to the sunsetting of 3G you can't actually start a subscription. Because of this, the free replacement (as mentioned in the TSB last year) makes you ineligible.

What model year did the newer 4G LTE controllers get installed into cars straight from the factory? My car was a 2017, but I might get another 991.2 when I find one with exactly what I am looking for, so it would really suck to have the update fully-covered on the car I just sold but not the one I might end up buying.
Hard to say for certain as I was able to add 2-year subscriptions for the Safety and Security services (in addition to renewing my existing Navigation/Entertainment level service that was due to expire on 6/27/22) prior to having the VTS Controller update done on May 5th. That would indicate to me that it may be possible to still subscribe otherwise they would have blocked me from renewing the first service and then adding the second and third services prior to getting the VTS Controller update done. You've got nothing to lose by trying to subscribe as you can always cancel the services within the first 30 days...so basically after getting confirmation that the update would not be covered. Worth a shot!

AFAIK all 991s received the 3G module. The TSB was for vehicles through 2020 or 2021.
This just doesn't feel right. Fix for free if you have the subscription. But major repair bill if you don't have the subscription. Hopefully there's patch that can done more easily rather than tearing the dash apart.
Also, if the unit is malfunctioning, patching it generally isn't possible.

I have not heard from my dealer at all to see if this affects my 2019 991.2 or 2017 Macan.
Both had Porsche CC when I bought the cars, and I let the subscription expire for both after 1 year.
Thanks for any new information that can be shared.
