The Fidelity Platinum Megathread
#481
Happy to testify that the platinum warranty will come through (mostly) on mundane fixes too. I reported an issue with my rear spoiler not closing fully (like in this thread). I brought the car to my dealership and had my service advisor see if they could get it fixed under warranty. The total bill was $3,942 and fidelity covered $3052. Apparently they didnt cover for the spoiler wiring harness replacement and all of the labor. A $900 dollar repair is a lot easier to deal with than $4k. I'm overall satisfied and my policy is half way paid for now.

Whoa. Just got a Fidelity quote for a 2017 Pan Turbo with 68,500 miles.
Are you ready?
For 4 years / 48k miles, Platinum is:
$25,500 for 0 deductible
$17,500 for $100 deductible
Considering the trade in value of this car is about $68k, I'm gonna go with no thanks... unless I'm doing something wrong? Even people who are asking "why is mine so expensive related to all the others" are quoting numbers much lower than this for a lot more years!
I realize that Panameras are the most expensive to cover, plus this is a Turbo with a LOT of miles on it, but holy moly.

@countbasey Actually, I believe you are able to cancel at any time and receive a pro-rata refund, so that's something to consider.

Wondering if that could be part of the reason for the extremely high quote?

Factors:
- From what Highline was saying, Panamera's take a hit by being in a "Luxury Sedan" category. It would seem 911s are in a cheaper category, based on some of the quotes people have posted
- Price goes up quick after 10k miles. 68k is WAY over that
- Deductible <$250 doesn't seem to make financial sense. My guess is the $0 one is high to deter people from excessive claims.
- Age of the car doesn't seem to be a large factor compared to mileage. Many of the older car quotes posted have very low mileage.

Hey @JCY what a lot of customers do in a situation like yours is go for our other extended warranty provider, Freedom Warranty. Same great coverage and claims acceptance as Fidelity, accepted at Porsche dealerships and licensed repair shops countrywide, but the policy pay out is $20k... not unlimited like Fidelity... but like you said... $17k is ridiculous. Freedom will be around $4,500-$5,000.
To keep things relevant to the Fidelity Megathred, @vg247 is correct, typically over 35k+ miles prices jump to the next "tier" and can increase dramatically.
Fidelity's pricing "tiers" are: (miles)
0-10,000
10,001-25,000
25,001-35,000
35,001-45,000
45,001-60,000
60,001-75,000
75,001-92,000
92,001-105,000
If anyone has any questions or would like to see pricing form either of our providers, you can reach me at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333
