We drive a 911 because we simply can’t afford a Ferrari

I can't believe I watched that... He talks like a child and it speaks volumes as to who his audience is. It's very fitting that he spews nonsense and needs to jester to the world about what he has... He's insecure. What a tool.
Also, I'm not one to judge people on looks but there's a lot of material on that guy.. He NEEDS a Ferrari with a mug like that.

Just ignore him. If he needs to argue on internet about what people comment on videos, then his real life is so pathetic that he probably was thinking buying a Ferrari will make him awesome. Now he is just frustrated because that didn't happen.

I didn't watch the video but:
1. No MT available.
2. Terrible dealer network in many (most) parts of the country. I live in flyover country and yet there are 4 Porsche dealers within 100 miles of me.
3. I can't do any (significant) work on my own.
#1 and #2 above leave me out without any feelings of loss. #3 makes #2 very important to me.
My feelings aren't hurt.

430
The 430 is the nicest fastest most exciting car i have ever driven. The 488 to me feels like crap next to a gt3. The 430 is also the only car i would not own a MT with as the AT with the F1 package is silly it i so good.
I put a comment on his video before. Said that I needed the back seats so my kid can enjoy the rides along with my wife as a family sometimes, and I wanted a car that was not just a point A to point A car (eg. Drive to a cars and coffee or do a group run and the drive right back to my garage). It’s nice to have a sports car that you can just park in a mall or restaurant without having to worry about it, but I guess if you’re really rich, you don’t care. He doesn’t have kids, so the back seats don’t matter to him. Oh, and did say I would like to own an F430 one day, but in a manual (his F430 before and current 458 are flappy paddle). He finances his Fcars, and I personally don’t like to finance...like to buy outright.

I like Dan and his videos, a real car guy. He has done a great job of demystifying Ferrari service and separating myth from reality. He does all his own work from major services to the simple oil change. He drives the ***** off his cars. He is helping produce manual transmission conversion kits for F430 and 599.
A lot more respect for that than the guy that pays Porsche dealers $500 for Mobil 1 oil changes.

I have been watching Dan’s channel almost from the start. Yes he works on his own car, but that doesn’t change the fact that he can be rather arrogant. I’m my opinion it’s why his channel hasn’t grown past a certain point. He is too much of a Ferrari fan boy. I mean he’s done videos comparing a $60k Vette to a $230k 458, bombshell the 458 was better.
same here, watched his videos a while ago. He seemed too disconnected and not relatable, and like you mentioned, a bit aloof (which can easily be perceived as arrogant).
Didn't find a lot of value in his videos so I moved on.

Owning A Ferrari For A Year Was A Disappointment
https://jalopnik.com/owning-a-ferrar...ent-1668355120
this paragraph says it all:
"And the other way to avoid these problems? A way to drive around worry-free in a fun, enjoyable, high-end sports car without attracting too much attention, or spending too much on maintenance, or scraping your bumper on every single driveway? A way you can use your car as more than just a toy, a way you can park it on the street, and use it for errands, and drive it to the store without sacrificing performance? Simple: just buy a Porsche."

I do love the F430 design and exhaust note, it's one of the best, but it's not that fast of a car at all, and the F1 package on the F430 is terrible. They did not have dual clutch AT that time, and the single clutch shifts are so slow that it actually kicks you forward on shifts, that's how slow it is. The F430 is best when it's a manual transmission. You can get decent F430s for about 100k, and under. Pop in a manual conversion kit for about 25-30,000 and that may just be one fo the best cars to drive. But the F1 stock transmission is slow.

Couldn't make it all the way thru the video... Just started hearing a lot of "blah blah blah," but I'm not gonna lie.... If money was no object, I'd have an 812 Superfast in my garage. A red one 😁

I can afford a Ferrari, I just choose not to buy one because they have never fully met my needs or matched my personality. I've driven a few of them and never felt how I feel when I drive my Pork. Heck! I feel more connected driving my teenage son's 95' MR2 than how I felt driving a 458 around Watkins Glen.
To the YouTube guy: You seem like a car guy, it is very disappointing when I see people like you making incendiary videos for fame when there's a lot more to consider when buying a car. It is not just about money, it is about connection.
The more I drive new cars, the less I like them.

The eleventy billion cuts in the video are extremely annoying. I had to turn it off even though I was sort of interested to hear what hear he had to say. I reminded me of the video gaming stuff my 10 year old son watches. I suspect this is where a majority of his views come from. This appeals to them.
