one very nice spec 2018 CPO base C2 show up at local dealer on Thursday, and it was gone today.
It's chalk over black, no leather, 14way, SC, PSE, Premium plus, 20' black sport wheel, sunroof, 11k miles. MSRP~118K, sale price 88K.
Although I think the price was reasonable, I was just shocked by how quickly the car was sold. So it's real that everyone makes HUGE money from stock market???

Some pricing is really nuts.....For instance, I was one of the lucky ones who acquired a C8 Corvette early. Drove it for 4 months, 3000 miles.
I just traded it for a '17 991.2 Turbo that had been traded at a small Chevy dealer (for a truck). Car is spectacular, 12K miles, original $199k sticker. Bought it at a fair (below) market value, and got $34,000 over MSRP for the C8.
They wanted the C8 Badly, and the turbo gone....Deal of a lifetime...

Lots of pent up discretionary income.
No vacations, no trips, etc., so people are buying things like yachts, high end cars, remodeling homes, etc as a way to burn off all that pent up discretionary income that was earmarked for vacations that were nixed.

Exactly.
We have nixed 3 over seas trips, and as many continental trips this year. Looking ahead to 2021 2x that.![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Later another dealer rep sent an email wanting to buy my car.

Several months of factory down time means supply of new cars is sharply reduced. That spills over into demand on used cars

Agree, people have income that they weren't expecting due to not eating out and going on vacation as much. I have seen more people on my street getting house projects done than any year in the past. For those that are still working, they're spending.

Local dealer is saying the same thing. February-March was pretty bleak, but cars are flying out the doors now. I keep an eye on a few dealerships to watch their used 911 inventory and whereas before they had 3 or 4 pages, now they're down to barely 1.

I’ve noticed lately they are down to a handful of used cars - currently just 7 911’s listed - where normally they would have dozens of cars listed. Supply indeed is very tight.

Odd situation a little counter intuitive initially - seeing similar trends on other “luxury” items... bought my wife an AP Royal Oak watch last year October - she did not really like it and we went together and got her another luxury timepiece - I had largely forgot about the AP.
My watch guy called me a month ago and asked if I had any watches I wanted to part with - he took the AP back for 10% more then I paid and some older stainless steel rolexes from 2005 at more then the current MSRP - one of them for 40% more ie I had bought it in 2005 for 8k usd and he took it for 12K+. Frankly, I am still a bit dumbfounded by that whole experience - I am the guy that usually buys a stock and it goes down by 10%.
He indicated watch market is up dramatically due to shortage/scarcity on production and individuals with higher discretionary income have not been spending due to simple things like not driving, not making planned purchases, vacations, travel, eating out etc etc.
Who would have thought....

Things are strange. I was looking for a F150 to replace my older truck. Called my buddy that owns a local used car lot and told him to find me a low mileage 2018 F150 platinum. He said it would be cheaper to just go buy a new one. Which it was and that is what I did! Couldn't believe the price I got on it. Put my old trick on Facebook and sold it in 1 day. Listed it at a price above what I knew I should ask and the person didnt even try to negotiate with me. Just paid what I listed it for. First time I ever felt really good about a car deal/

My dealer has had a 991.2 Turbo S with 12k miles for sale 8+ months now. They dropped the price to $150k and I expressed interest. They offered me only $81k for my C2S Endurance Racing Edition with X51 PowerKit they sold me new in 2018, and they installed my X51 PowerKit that year. I've had all maintenance done by them on the last 2 911s, and at 12k miles this one has 22+ months new car warranty remaining.
Then they raised the asking price for the Turbo S up to $158k. They said the market jumped, but wouldn't raise their $81k offer for my trade.
An independent out-of-state dealer offered me $90k for my trade on a similar Turbo S priced at $149k, initial offer, sight unseen.
I think I may have already done my last trade with this local dealer.
