Hey thanks for your reply to my thread "need advice on this purchase". I'm really unsure if I should go buy the car. I love the looks. I drove it for about 15 mins and it was a blast. I was reading through various threads and it seems like the car is pretty reliable. What scares me the most are the reports of catastrofic engine failure (IMS\RMS related issues) and is the only thing that stops me from buying it. Since you're local in Downers Grove (I'm in Chicago) and own the same car I'm looking at I was wondering if you could give me more in depth perspective on owning 997 Carrera S and maybe recommend good independent Porsche shop to perform pre-purchase inspection for me.
