Bought my 2018 C2S CPO this year with 26K miles. Supposedly went through the dealer CPO check and I found water pump leak a week after I took it home. Covered by CPO warranty. Great program as it extends my warranty to 2024. Dealer said it would have cost about $5-6k if our of pocket.
I have an extension on the water pump too until 2027 on my 17 GTS. I suspect everyone now has this. So that's great news.
can U explain this to me..if i had a water pump warranty replaced august 2020 and now out of factory warranty is the new water pump under a "new" warranty of some type from Porsche.. any links to this info
My 2017 C4 with 25k miles is back at the dealership for the second time in less than a month because the coolant keeps overheating (need to turn car off to cool it).
I’ve only owned this car for a month and it’s already been at the dealership twice over the same issue. First time they reported coolant level was low and topped it off, now we’ll see what they say this time when they put it on a lift... my coolant started to rise 3 times on the way to the dealership and I told them to keep the car until they diagnose and fix it... I’m not coming back for a third time.
So far my experience at Porsche dealerships (two in different states) has been pretty **** poor. The one I purchased from is very well known and their after sales support was abysmal. They still haven’t registered my car or gotten plates yet and I’ve had the car over a month. The dealership I bring my car to for service is a brand new facility with state of the art everything... and so far they’ve dropped the ball on basic diagnostics, and also managed to scratch two on my rims while swapping on new summer tires.
I really hope this isn’t an indication of typical dealership service at Porsche. Compared to Mercedes when I had a C63S Coupe, the dealerships were much more thorough and accommodating to work with.

No links. Took car in for service and asked about pump. The dealer has been supportive and showed me on my record that Porsche had extended the warranty on the pump only until 2027. I've needed two new ones (same as others on this site) so was concerned it could happen again. This is not something the dealer put there. Would suggest you call your dealer or Porsche NA. My guess is that this is for 2017s at this point that are just going off warranty. But I don't know that for sure.

Wow, let us know how this goes. I've just had my car since the beginning of the year. The fans up front went bonkers when I was a block from home a few days ago. I didn't get a code though, but I could see the radiator temp was at the max. Once the car cooled off, I checked the coolant level and the little stick was at "Min". I have an appointment to take it in next Thursday. This really sucks, I just want to drive the car.
had pump and other stuff replaced 8/2020 under warranty...no problems since..i peek under there weekly...have put on about 5K miles since....works perfect..(knock on wood)

This car (991.2) is new to me. Bought it around 4-20-21. The water pump, and other items (thermostat and water tube) were replaced in March.
Around the first week of May it over heated. Startled me as there was no indication of anything wrong. I opened the radiator cap, thinking steam would come out, but coolant poured out. Not to bright of me in hindesight. Anyway the car cooled off and I drove it home with no issues. Topped off the fluid that spilled out and was fine for maybe 3 days. NOW this is my regiment if it goes over 194. If the temp rises above 194 it will not stop. I pull over, wait 1-2 minutes, drive off. If temp rises above 194, repeat process. Every time I do this it takes 2-8 cycles and then it stays at 194 for about 3 days. Then the cycle repeats. OH, I did take it to the shop and had them "burp" the system but they must not have drained everything and put a vacuum on it to refill it as it did the SAME thing the next day after I paid them $400.
Taking it back to them so they can try it again. Also this bulletin came out in 2018...I'll have them check the vacuum lines to see if there is any coolant there...if so the Valve block needs to be replaced also. Guess the shop who replaced the pump didn't look or know about this otherwise it should have been done then. The "block" is about $300 online. Unfortunately for me EVERYTHING is out of warranty. Oh, the car now has about 45K miles and had about 41K when the pump was replaced.
