Would you guys buy a 991.2 that hasn't had a water pump replaced? Wondering if it's something that's bound to happen on all the cars until they have the pump and block replaced with the new design.
Mine is going in next week. Just found a couple dribbles on the floor, and there's a little bit of pink crust on the coolant crossover pipe. 11k miles, 2017.
Question, has anyone been denied water pump replacement under warranty for a modified car?
Good question RE ECU tunes and piggyback tunes like JB4's.
Do they have to drop the engine or can they replace the water pump from underneath?
Is there any need to inquire the ECU with PIWIS for a water pump change?

Dropping the engine is not required although the rear bumper, muffler and various other parts must be removed to change out the water pump. Access to the ECU is not required for this replacement.

Let us know how it goes--interested to see how the dealer handles with the tune and other mods. Thanks!
mine they dropped the bumper, exhaust system, replaced pump and reinstalled bumper exhaust according to my invoice.. my honda accord 150K has the original water pump from new just for the record..maybe let the Honda engineers design a pump...Porsche pump petered out at 19K
2017 GTS 04/2017 build date with 8100 miles. So far so good but I literally get under the rear of the car every time I drive it and look for evidence of failure. Warranty expires on June 2nd. A Fidelity extended warranty will be in my future.

So Porsche checked mine yesterday and no issue or leakage and seal in perfect condition but they are driving it today to further check.
Test drive done by the technician and picked up the car yesterday all should be in order but I will continue to monitor how this goes and how temperature develops. On the home drive the oil temp didn't get above 97 degrees (previously reaching 105+ degrees at times) after the oil has been changed (was changed last year as well) which seems odd that nothing else has changed (will keep checking this).

Reason: Update
Under my 991.2 carerra t starting the 3 year maintenance and I notice this . Water pump replaced about 1.5 years ago and no warning messages or overheating. Thinking it may be connected to the weep hole on the pump? Any one know where it goes?
The broken line to the water pump is a vacuum line. The water pump uses vacuum to control an internal slider that controls the flow of the water pump. With no vacuum going to the water pump, you will have the most coolant flow all the time. Temporarily, you may want to plug the vacuum line so that you do not have a vacuum leak.
