@VektorPerformance makes complete sense-thanks very much! @getPorscheparts can you get this part? Hoping its some simple vacuum tube to replace if I can get to the other end...yes I could see if CPO would cover it but probably not worth the hassle as I am already in there.

Looking at a 17 991.2S right now but it's out of warranty, just a bit worried about this issue. Have no problem spending money to keep the car going over the years but don't want to be replacing water pumps on my own dime on the regular either.

Anyone have input on this question?

45k miles, so out of warranty and high enough to make extended warranties pricey. Carfax shows everything done service wise, all done at dealer but doesn't show a wp replacement.

maybe contact independent shop for pricing to perform preventative replacement. You might never need it though. Have you priced. Fidelity warranty? How much?

The car has been home for a few days now. They ended up having to replace the COV block as well. No issues, process smooth as glass...as expected. Simple modifications are not responsible for the most common failure of the 991.2.

Bringing our mule to the dealer tomorrow with pink crusty goo that first started ~2K mile mark. Will see what they say.
On a related note, I have been playing with new OEM pumps and the actuator seals definitely have a vacuum level limit. Will be testing some solutions soon.

At least it's good to hear they are going to support their customers for the long haul. It would be nice to see than notice in writing.
