Bringing this INE back from the dead since I have a couple questions since putting the OTS tune on my base 991.2

It seems my non-sport chrono launch control is gone. Is there something I can configure to get it back?

A pro-tune question. Is it possible to make a Jekyl and Hyde tune? Meaning in non-sport mode it would Tun the stock tune and in Sport Mode it would be a pro-tune?

After reading this thread and seeing lots of comments about 1.05 and 1.06 version tunes, I noticed that Cobb is now on v2.00. However, looking at the power graphs it doesn’t appear there is any improvement in the output compared to earlier versions? I am just looking at the 991.2S PDK tune.

I have an accessport from a previous Porsche that I actually never got around to using so trying to decide if it’s even worth it to put a stage 1 tune on. Also I don’t see an option for stage 2..is that a specific request?

My car is in the M-Engineering test program for their new 991 tuning platform. I dropped the car off with the Cobb OTS tune and 103 in the tank. The Cobb v2.0 OTS tune is objectively around 20WHP over stock, and you can see where the M-Engineering tunes are as well.

I’m going back in a couple of weeks as they get closer a final build of their platform. There is still some power to be had even at stock.

Sorry for the left being cut off, but from top to bottom its stock/103, Cobb/103, M-Engineering/93, M-Engineering/103. The torguqe numbers are closer to +100 ft/lbs over stock not sure what it is with Cobb but I will find out. I will get the full print out from them and post it this week. Keep in mind these are conservative OTS type tunes as well. The car should get a real custom tune next. Then next year I'll bolt on the Tial turbos and various other mods and anther tune.

So it sound like there’s no real benefit to using the OTS Cobb map on a Carrera S. The Cobb website says 16-17% gains which would be a good bit more than 20hp, so that’s misleading marketing I think.

Does not look that way, and I was surprised it was that small of a gain. The car felt a bit stronger but data shows much less then I thought.

A lot of tunes 'enhance' the result with remapping of the throttle.

And that is what it looks like it did, the car "felt" quicker but nothing close to what was advertised. If you read the ads carefully the results are for an earlier version, not for V2.0.

Now with a real tune it feels totally different. It also no longer tapers close to redline which is really noticeable.

I bought the Cobb so I could get a custom tune but was holding out until the new turbos were installed. You can get a protune or M-Engineering offers their OTS tunes for the Cobb. The owners M-Engineering worked at Cobb and developed all of the earlier tunes. They were a bit shocked at the results as well.

What version was the last good known tune? Is anyone able to put it on Google drive or somewhere to share publicly?

I believe it's V1.02, I have it but would not install on my car. It was greyed out when I connected the Access Port to the car.

I saw mention of 1.05 and 1.06 so wasn't sure. Maybe I need to re-read the thread.

I had to get a new DME due to a memory checksum error so no more Cobb installed. It was one of the early installs where the DME had to be sent to Cobb to be cracked.
I gather now its do-able over OBD by the user.
And if the gains really are so marginal now, not worth reinstalling latest version of OTS . I had 106 last and was defo less aggressive than the 102-104.
So for now Accessport is purely to scan for codes.

Its 20WHP at best but can be used for custom tunes. Its the only platform that allows for custom tunes other than the soon to be released M-Engineering platform which walks all over the Cobb.
