John this is too sexy. How backed-up (pun intended, hahaha) are you guys in making and delivering sport cats for 991.2 base models?

The Kudos goes not just to our fabricators but Mike, he wields that camera like a Medieval Broadsword haha. We're scheduled into January on fabrication for a set of those, I'd get your order in ASAP as the sooner your order the sooner you get them

Regards,
John

hi Mike, do you still have a Rennlist member discount? I’m interested in your drone tube system for non-PSE 991.2. Thanks!

I've emailed Soul directly and through their website with no response, hoping to get some help here.

I purchased a Soul non-PSE cat-back exhaust with anti-drone tubes for my 991.2 base off a fellow FB group member. His car was a 991.2 4S, but he was told by Soul that the exhaust would work for my car as well, since it was sold to me without the sports cats (different length cats for S and base?). I wanted to find out if any other parts or modification will be needed to fit the exhaust on my car. The exhaust came with CF tips, but I'd be happy to reuse my OEM tips if necessary.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated!

How you tried running a set of our high flow cats on your PSE equipped car yet? That PSE muffler is quite unrestrictive with valves open, the main cork in the flow and sound are the cats themselves.

Hey There! I'm not sure we didn't receive an email from you, I checked and cannot find one that came through. My direct email is johng@soulpp.com and my number is 4848836197 text/call any time. If you bought a full SOUL systems (cats, x-pipe, and tips) from a Carrera S, it will bolt right onto a Base Non PSE car. However, you cannot reuse your OEM tips as the tip outlet pipes are different for OEM tips vs SOUL tips. If you'd like to reuse your OEM tips, we will have to fabricate you a different set of outlet pipes. Hope this helps! : )

Best regards,
John Gaydos

Just wanted to give a huge shout-out to John for making himself available to chat about this exhaust. Customer service like his is rare nowadays, so I just wanted to publicly acknowledge it. Thanks again for your help John.

For a base 991.2 without PSE, a few questions:

- Is there an x-pipe option, or is the x-pipe only for the Turbo model?

- Is there a video that compares the base 991.2 xpipe with the sport cat + exhaust package?

- Have you measured the decibel difference between the stock non-pse base 991.2 and the version with your exhaust?

- Finally, I can't get a sense for how much difference the cat replacement makes versus just replacing the exhaust - any advice on this? (I saw the comment that it makes little difference in volume, but you mostly hear more turbo whine?

I "think" I'm trying to decide between either getting just the exhaust, or going with the x-pipe. It's not clear that the cat option adds enough to add another $2K - argh - complicated

thx!

I can tell you from my personal experience, but I don't have any recordings nor decibel readings.
I first started with the cat back "x-pipe" with carbon tips. I installed this myself and was fairly straight forward. The end pipes they sent me were for the factory tips, though so I had to use the factory tips for a bit. They stuck out about an inch further than stock, which I didn't like.
They do have great customer service and had the proper end pipes sent to me and even covered the cost to install them since I don't have a garage.
The only part I still dislike is that they stick out too far still.
The sound was great and finally got that popping sound I like, even though this is a non PSE system.
it was definitely louder than stock, but I still desired more sound.
I ended up ordering the hi flow cats from them and they said the pipes they had sent me that stick out too far were meant to be used with the hi flow cats too so I thought all would be good after that.
I ended up paying a local shop to install them and it went well and sounded amazing! Quite a noticeable difference in sound. Especially at cold start(neighbors probably hate me) and in sport mode. I think it's well worth the cost.
In the end, the tips still stick out too far for my liking, but I haven't complained to them about it. I wish they were about an inch further in. Maybe I'll contact them to see what can be done. The shops messed with the angles of all the pipes for an hour and could not get them sucked back in any further. All in all, I'm happy with the total package. I took my car to have the wheels powder coated by a reputable shop in the Los Angeles area and when I picked it up they told me it's the best sounding 911 they have ever heard. They do a lot of exotic cars and the owner had a huracan so they know what they're talking about. You won't be disappointed.

Thinc2: I did this the hard way so glad I can help here. I first did just the SOUL anti-drone x-pipe (muffler delete) and found myself quickly still needing more volume and bark. Within a few months I got the SOUL sport cats and added them onto the x-pipe and problem solved. It's a game changer. Cold start is best sound this side of a GT3 Cup car, turbo spooling is slightly quicker, you can now hear turbo whistle, throttle response seems quicker, slightly more power and louder pops and burbles off-throttle in Sport mode. But the best feature is this: the downshifts and upshifts snapped off by the PDK are sick sounding, exotic actually. the sport cats and xpipe together allow the violent internal mechanical sounds of the gearbox and auto-rev matching to break through around a wide perimeter around the car. You can't really tell this from inside the car BUT if you let a friend drive your car while you drive another car next to or around it in traffic it's freakin' wild. Gave me goosebumps hearing the nasty explosive noises when my brother gunned the throttle, it dropped 3 gears and surged off with the most serious sounds I've ever heard coming out of any street car. Then, when he dove hard on the brakes coming to a light and the PDK downshifted in rapid succession, the bombs going off at the back of the car were spine tingling. I was freakin flipping out in my Durango with joy, knowing that money was well spent. SOUL nailed it. Moral of the story, save the $ and get the sport cats and the xpipe together and do all at once. the 911.2 is a very quiet car stock, it becomes a feral beast with the sport cats and xpipe. I would imagine that if you add in the headers, it will sound like a spec race car.

Wow - thank you for the responses - that's super helpful. It's so hard to tel what is too loud, and what is just right, since it's different for all of us. I want somewhat louder, but not all-out hooligan, but mostly I want a deep rich sound. So the quality of the sound is more, important than the volume to me.

I understand your concern. All I can say is I love the sound and I don't like the loud *** cars like hellcats that roam around setting off alarms.
this can be loud when you are in sport mode and put your foot in it, but otherwise just a nice tone that isn't too loud in my opinion. Cold starts are loud no matter what, though. I think it's a very nice tone that they achieved. I also have the anti-drone x pipe.
