Any chance someone could do a diy with some pics? Someone else was nice enough to explain but I still don’t understand the steps....especially the turning the boot inside out stuff. Thanks for any help!

Just finished it myself. If you turn the boot inside out and then push the PDK handle down to line up with the end of the boot, you zip tie (or double zip tie) the boot onto the handle. when you then pull the boot right side out it makes the "fold" over the handle to appear stock and it holds the boot in place. As someone else said you will need the hazard/lock surround also.
Just not picturing how the boot stays on the shaft with zip ties. The PDLS **** has to come off.....how does the zip ties hold the boot on the smooth shaft?

The zip ties go around the boot. They just squeeze it to the handle, then when you pull the boot back down to return it right side out if forms the "fold over" to make the stock look. I was also worried about the boot just sliding down so I used two small zip ties. Once you replace the ****/boot combo you never touch the boot and it doesn't move much at all. The zip ties do keep it secure.
Look at the circled area. Imagine a zip tie underneath that area of the boot. The zip tie secures the boot to the PDK shaft. The boot can still move up and down along the shaft (that's what she said ), but the tie gives the boot a nice finished "rolled over" look. You secure the shaft to the boot by pulling the bottom of the boot over the PDK **** and attaching the zip tie where the end of the boot meets the shaft, This is done of course before you lock in the PDK back into place. After that you snap the entire boot piece in.

I found the video to be quite informative and I can readily envision how to apply the learnings to installing a boot with the PDK.
Unfortunately, the video doesn't cover the replacing of the trim piece around the switches.
I'm doing this to my car but wanted Alcantara to match the rest of the car. Suncoast just put the alcantara boot on sale for anyone else who might be interested.
Parts showed up from suncoast so I did my car today. Popping that center trim is a bit daunting but other then that it went well, took me about a half hr overall. Thanks to Ivan at DCT Motorsports for the custom PDK **** with alcantara & red stitching. I'm happy with the look given my car's red stitching and painted key, even more so now that Porsche has basically killed the PDK shifter off!

Just curious - isn't red stitching on the boot an option that could be sourced? I also have a GTS with red deviation, and would love to make this small change but only if I could match-up stitching in red.....
