Default Boot install

Hi all!
just finished installing the boot instead of shinny plastic PDK surround. Took all of 15 min to do without any issues at all. Looks great! Thanks to all of you who “walked” me through it. I’ve learned so much from all of you. I’m very appreciative!

To each their own...I don't get the allure myself. I don't mind the look without the shift boot at all. To someone who called this a god send as it covers up "the cheap plastic", clearly has standards above reason.

I think the way they trimmed the PDK shifter ties in nicely with the rest of the interior. I don't find it cheap looking at all.

Lastly, adding a boot only makes you want to start down the never ending path of more interior mods, lol.

Nothing...until you sell the car to someone else for pennies on the mod dollars. It's painful. Ask me how I know!

True, I know the feeling. But you are the lucky one, at least you got some pennies

Thanks to NCThirteen and others who provided installation hints. Looks as good in my 981 as it does in the 991s (and in the freakin' Macan, for that matter, where it comes standard.)

Why Porsche didn't offer this as an upgrade option for the sports cars is hard to understand.

See post #10. You need 2 parts for this mod, the boot and the replacement trim piece right above the boot. Also if you want red stitching, it is available and a different part number (post #54) , or you can buy the black stitching and restitch with red thread.

Thank you. But thats just the link to sun coast, I was curious about the porsche part number so I could cross check pricing on other sites.

Turns out Suncoast has a pretty competitive price on these
