Super easy swap. Everything just pulling off and changing.

I did it too. I overcomplicated it by removing the side panels, this is not needed. Just the trim around the console but now it is done.

So is it possible to remove/replace the shifter trim with the leather boot without removing any other trim or knee bolsters?

You don’t need to remove anything but the shifter, trim plate and the small trim plate for the hazard/lock switches. Use a plastic trim tool and it will pop right out. The new one snaps right in without any issue.

The inner silver plastic can only be removed by breaking some plastic weld points. I removed mine this summer. Was looking into making the silver part black.

the black leather with red stitching is tempting but must resist. Too bad they don’t sell the boot separately.
