One other thing I noticed - I just did a ton of highway driving earlier this week, and I found these RE980 can often make the car feel squirmy at highway speeds. The best I can describe it is that you're holding the wheel straight, but the car feels like it is subtly moving side-to-side with a "swaying" motion. I can't seem to recall ever feeling this with the P Zero's, but I also might just be paying extra attention to the "feel" of the car given that all seasons were always going to be a bit of a gamble from a handling perspective.
Sounds consistent with an all-season versus a summer tire.
Just put the winter tires on my wife's X3 and it is VERY noticeable, but further enhanced with the taller sidewall (18 inch tire versus 20 inch tire).
High performance winter tires are pretty good for handling, and I suspect that the Michelin all seasons will perform reasonably well.

But good to know about the Bridgestone.
Ah, good point. Now that I think about it, I notice this with the winter tires on my Golf R as well. Probably is due to the squishy, taller tread blocks.
I was wondering the same thing. What would be the issue if I installed the 255/35 in the front instead of 245/35 in my Carrera T. Of course, the rears would be the 305/30. I've read the reviews on these tires and they look really, really good!
I'm surprised that with as many knowledgeable people on the forum nobody has an answer to this question...

The tire will be 0.4" (10mm) wider and have a 0.1" (3.5mm) higher sidewall. You can see the slight difference on Tire Size Comparison. Others on this Forum have stated that that run this size tire with no issue on their cars, yet search and read their input for yourself.......
If you are concerned about Tire Clearance in the front, you can always go with the Michelin A/S 3+ in the OEM Size of 245/35-20 in the front, with the Michelin A/S 4 in the rear.......
Remember these are All Season tires that will give very good performance for Street use in year round weather - not Track Tires for maximum performance. IMHO, a less than 5% difference in Width will not be seen in Street use.
I was flat out shocked by the Michelin AS/3 on our Abarth...a FAR better tire than the PZero Nero in both the wet and the dry. They transformed the car. Handled better, rode better, quieter, and fixed the car's freeway stability issues in the rain (not acceptable @ 70 mph), making it a non-issue. It's really a pity they're not available in 991 sizing.
I agree about the AS/3's. I replaced my P Nero zero's (with only 13K on them) on my DD CTS4 a few months ago and it was like getting a completely new car as you mentioned. I also just replaced the OEM P's on my C2S cab with the Mich PS4S's. Didn't realize that the Bridgestones were an option...at about half the price. Time will tell.
Thanks for posting. Much appreciated.
Still looks a touch stretched for my taste but not too bad.
I guess if I want all seasons I dont have a choice. Or get 10.5 custom wheels.
To my eyes the front is nearly square, which is what i like. Square or a touch of bulk for that old school look.
Whereas rear in comparison is still inward. I call that a stretch.
Again, that's my eye and taste.

What about the new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4? I'm running them on the rear of my 991.2 Targa GTS which uses 11.5" wide rims. I can't tell them apart from the original Pilot Sport 4S.
When I need to replace my front tires, Michelin might have the 245/35 - R20's available, if not I'll simply use the Pilot Sport All Season 3+ tires, which come in this size.

Yeah thought about that, sizes are just not there for either model.

So I do not understand your comment that the sizes are just not there for either model? I agree with you that the Bridgestone's just do not fit the 11.5" wide rims, and even look a little undersized on the 11" wide rims. This is why I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons, as they fit & look the same as the OEM tires, and I did not want to buy new rims.
You can run these 2 "different" tire series front and rear, as they are "all season" tires, and you will (should) not be pushing the car to 85 - 100% of its performance envelope.

So A/S 4 doesn't come in 245/35 and A/S3+ do not come in 305/30 as you noticed, thus neither model has the sizes needed.
I don't like to mix two different model tires on same vehicle. If i go on a spirited drive, i need all 4 corners to have same tire. That's just me, im **** like that, go figure.....
Cheers
P.S.
Unless i go 255 upfront, then i can get A/S 4 i guess

Got it! Thanks for the clairification. Sometimes these message boards are like Email and stuff gets lost in the middle.
I agree with you and would prefer having the same tire series in the front and rear, yet I needed new rears and my front OEM PS4S still had 50% tread. So I just replaced the rears with the Michelin PS All Season 4 tires, as going to All Season tires means we are giving up that top 10% of ultimate handling performance. So far it drives fine and handles well in street driving and some twisties in the mountains. When my front tires need replacement, I'll have to see what is available at that time.....
