Looks like a great way to bring track wheels to an event.
Too bad none of the GT cars have the roof mounts for the rack.

Compact spare kit from 997. Fits on front wheel. ( move regular front to back if needed there).
How is that 45-50pound tire and wheel secured? I’d be very concerned, that even if strapped down with certified belts and the latch clips hold, even a “slow” 15-20mph front collision will hurl that 50 pound Missle towards your head. The end result won’t be pretty....

Its 25 lb and the child seat anchors are located just below the tire on the back shelf.
strapped to one of those....

Given the bike on his rack, I'd say it's more fun to drive to many trailheads than a 911; he'll actually get there and back! lol

So do some Treks! And, of course, the other more boutique brands, too.

I know bicycles can be relatively expensive, but Porsche bicycles aren't worth it.

Oh yeah... meant to add that, too. They are pretty inexpensive bikes with a VERY expensive paint/logo job!

What’s most impressive is the unique mounting points. All 991’s have built-in swivel mounts underneath the weather stripping. These mate directl with the roof transport system so that there’s no contact with the paint.

Once you’ve set it up, uninstalling & reinstalling takes less than 10 minutes. Brilliantly effective!

Trim the steerer tube on your Trek (Emonda?) before you impale yourself!

Haha, noted! Wasn’t sure if I was going to keep or sell it!

Went for another road trip today and the rack was solid at *9* mph!

Maybe just me but my 2013 I couldn't seem to route the rubber inside the roof rack ends...didn't work and they did get creased over time.

I agree it's well design to have no contact with paint!

How did you get the Thule's to mount? I found the Thule mountings really didn't work on my RTS - and Thule says they won't fit as well. Porsche designed it so you to have to pay 2x for the Porsche bike mounts ...

I think you just have to be careful of how you route them. I only use the rack once a week and never leave it on for more than a day or two, so I don't think I'll wear them out.

My rack is Thule's newest and it was just released, so maybe they've updated their mounting system because it worked fine out of the box for me.

A Rhino rack attaches quite nice to the bars.

Used to carry track tires that dont fit inside the car
How is the Rhino rack secured to the Porsche Transport racks?

looks slick!

I am skeptical that those anchors reside under the rubber on my 2019 T. I peeled the rubber up to see and the rubber appeared to start ripping. I was very hesitant to pull it any further.
