These have arrived in the UK from Florida. 😎 Appropriately they are being fitted on the 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Searching has failed me so hopefully this crew can help. What does a T miss out on if it doesn’t have the sport chrono option?

I’m seeing lots of different info (like the steering wheel with selectable modes that the T already has).

I believe as it applies to the 991.2 Carrera T, not being additionally optioned with the sport chrono clock you only miss the actual clock and the “track precision app”. The switchable modes is standard on the T.

Got out this afternoon to run a couple errands and pickup a pizza on the way home. Slaying backroads? Not today. But this car still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

The Carrera T, specifically my Carrera T gets a mention from Paul in today’s Everyday Driver podcast at 39’23”.

If you haven’t seen it already, check out their “Price of Fun” movie that also features my Carrera T:

Question for the group: would you ever swap out your LWBS and sell them for GT2 folding carbon bucket seats? Let’s just say price is irrelevant.

Why would you do that? I have the LWBS in my T and just bought a pair of the 997 buckets for my Cayman R. They are both comfortable but unless you need back area access the folding buckets wouldn't be an upgrade? If you have the LWBS then you dont have back seats so I don't know why you would need the folding option. So even if price were no option I don't see the benefit in switching.

I have a Spyder (987.2) inbound that lacks buckets and have a line on some GT2 buckets. Of course the car is in Houston so….it might not work out and I don’t want to have a pair of buckets sitting around if the deal falls through. I’d surely lose a lot of money reselling the GT2 buckets because I’d be getting them new and paying a huge premium for that reason.

I’ve looked into adding rear seats to a T with LWBS. It’s possible, but it’s not practical (it’s harder than on a 997). If I had gone through with it, I’d probably replaced the LWBS with 4/14/18-ways for that use case, then revert back to LWBS for track or canyon use.

LWBS Carrera Ts are rare. There are probably only a few dozen people in North America with them, and a fraction of that who might want GT2 buckets.

Gotcha. I got the buckets for my R used at a decent price. If your not in a hurry that's a good route to go as well. They pop up on the markteplace every once and a while.

Love my buckets. It’s a defining characteristic of the car IMHO. I would never change them. I once heard “about 173” quoted as the number of 991.2 Carrera T’s with LWBS. I don’t have an official source though.

Only 173 North American Carrera Ts with LWBS is pretty remarkable, right?

A few other stats for 991.2 NA Carrera Ts that are interesting (https://vinanalytics.com/deepview/91...a-t/options/):

EDIT: How does 315 PDK + 161 7MT = 1043 991.2 North American Carrera Ts?

I believe a 2019 Carrera T with LWBS, PCCBs, RAS, and a 7MT is the 'ultimate' Carrera T. Miami Blue is the cherry on top.

Does anyone have one?
