If I put my pragmatic hat on, there must be a non-trivial cost to rework the .2 platform to fit the six-speed and NA 4.0... and once you start talking about adding carbon panels and such I suspect you're going to start to encroach uncomfortably on GT3 pricing, and similar production constraints?
I’m sure the Porsche engineers could make it happen with enough time and money. The problem is the 4.0 in the 718 GTS appears to only be able to make 420ish HP otherwise the GT4 RS would’ve had that same engine. That HP is what the past 997.2 and 991.1 made in 3.8 GTS guise. It appears to be a very limited engine in that respect and would no longer suite the Carrera S or GTS for HP/TQ. So now you’re left with putting a different engine (and probably frame modifications to support a turbo engine vs a NA engine plumbing/weight) in the Base and T which doesn’t make sense financially or production-line wise at all. It would have to have its own production line like the GT cars and other models.
theoretically it’s possible, heck they made the 911 Sport Classic without side intakes…but fiscally irresponsible. I say that but they used to put in the 3.4l and 3.8l in the 991.1 and 997s.
Overall spot on review (the title was some good clickbait though).
I was surprised to hear that in the UK the T is the 991.2 model that depreciates the most. I don't have any data to refute, it just seems odd compared to the situation in the US!
Not true. T Is rare in the UK and holds value very well, spec dependant of course!

That's what I thought. Based on his description of the suspension noises and the rattles, I'm assuming the car he was driving was beaten like a rented mule - hence the low price. I've watched a few of his other videos and while he's not exactly a full-on car journalist, I would have thought he would check before making statements like that.
There were a few other errors in his review. I commented on the video to that end. I agree, of course! (we all do), with his bottom line that the car is awesome... but he didn't exactly do all his homework nor do anything other than make some drama for clicks. I get it, it's his livelihood... I did thank him in the end for keeping the hype alive! Always good to have some new vids of this car out there after coming up on 5 years from launch IMO. The yellow looks awesome, but white is faster!

I don't watch his stuff, not seen the T one, just reponding to quotes of his

Clickbait. Sure, they (Porsche) could have done more… but it would have cost more. Sure, they could have done less… but we like *some* creature comforts.
@spyderbret and others...
I'm hovering my mouse over the buy button on these inserts... Maybe I'm being cheap, but are people really paying $1,500 for these?

Yep. Happily!! It's a great product and I love the change that it makes in the interior. I like them so much I bought a set for my GT3 too!
You can also sell them if or when you sell the car. Something to keep in mind. They are easy to swap out. After!

Another option that is great is Classic FX.
Garry in the UK is excellent and uses OEM material.
I had a set made for my GT2 seats that would match the carrera T interior package pattern. They feel and look the same because they ARE the same material

Even though these are in my spyder, I also like the P1 inserts. My T has the 18 ways so inserts aren't easy to do, and I like the "cloth" inserts it came with, though I would have liked the pin stripes... (and I wanted them to match the houndstooth inserts I've had in my 914 for 51 years...)
